Where DFW Body Shops and Mechanics Get OEM Chevy Parts

ACDelco parts on shelves in the Jupiter Chevrolet parts department in Garland, TX

TL;DR

Jupiter Chevrolet's parts department in Garland sells GM parts wholesale to independent repair shops, body shops and used-car dealers across DFW. Jupiter keeps engines, transmissions and body parts in a 40,000-square-foot warehouse, delivers same-day and next-day orders to shops across the metroplex and will price match. Call 972-864-9725 with a VIN or part number and ask for the parts counter.

You've got a Silverado on the lift, the customer wants it back and the part you need isn't on your shelf. What matters now is simple: who has it, how fast it gets to your bay and whether it's the right part the first time.

That's the call our parts counter in Garland takes all day. Here's what we keep on hand, how delivery works and how to start ordering.

Where Do DFW Shops Get OEM Chevy Parts Fast?

When a GM dealer has the part in stock nearby and can deliver it, that can save a shop from waiting on a longer parts order. Jupiter Chevrolet's parts department on I-635 in Garland sells GM parts to the trade, and most of our wholesale customers are local independent mechanics, body shops and used-car dealers reconditioning inventory.

Most shops order the way they always have: by phone or at the counter.

What Does Jupiter's Wholesale Parts Counter Stock?

Jupiter stocks parts in two places. Quick-turn parts sit at the parts counter at the dealership, and the big, slow-to-source parts that stall a repair live in our 40,000-square-foot warehouse.

  • Engines and transmissions. Including 5.3L and 6.2L V8s, plus engines for smaller Chevys like the Traverse and Equinox, along with diesel parts. Stocked in the warehouse.
  • Body parts. Big collision parts like frames and door panels, for local body shops and for Jupiter Collision Center on our own campus. This is a category we've been growing.
  • Quick-turn parts. Brakes, batteries, filters and other fast-moving parts, stocked at the dealership counter for quick turnaround.
  • Not on the shelf? We source it. Whatever a shop orders, we'll track it down and bring it out.

GM sells parts under two names. GM Genuine Parts is GM's original-equipment line for Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac. ACDelco includes GM original-equipment parts plus Gold and Silver lines that also cover other makes. Tell the counter which line your job calls for, and have the VIN ready so we pull the right part number.

"A lot of shops come to our counter expecting genuine GM parts to cost more, and they find out we're actually cheaper than aftermarket on a lot of products."

Eric Fussell, General Manager, Jupiter Chevrolet

That's also where most price matching happens. Show the counter a lower price on an aftermarket part, whether it's from a website or a store down the street, and we'll try to match it with the genuine GM part. We'll price match in-stock and sourced parts, and on select parts we can sometimes beat the offer.

How Does Parts Delivery Work for Local Shops?

Jupiter delivers anywhere in DFW, from Garland and Mesquite to Rowlett, Rockwall, Dallas and all the way to Fort Worth. Delivery is mainly for wholesale accounts and covers same-day and next-day orders, from quick-turn parts up to engines and transmissions.

Call the counter, confirm the part is in stock and ask when it can reach your bay.

Why Do GM's Repair Positions Matter When You Order Collision Parts?

For collision repairs on GM vehicles, GM's position is specific. Its Aftermarket Parts collision position statement (Sept. 18, 2026) says GM "strictly prohibits the use of non-GM approved salvage, recycled/used, or non-Genuine aftermarket parts" on its brands, and that GM requires OE parts and GM-approved repair procedures "to ensure continued warranty coverage."

GM also publishes position statements for specific systems. Its Windshield Replacement statement prohibits aftermarket glass, notes it can differ in optical clarity and calls for camera calibration after replacement.

Those statements cover collision repair. They aren't a rule for every mechanical job, and plenty of shops use aftermarket parts on routine work. For collision, structural or driver-assistance repairs on a GM vehicle, GM's published position gives shops and vehicle owners a manufacturer-backed reference for the parts and procedures GM calls for.

We see it on our own campus. Jupiter Collision Center works from GM repair procedures, and Collision Center Manager Zach Preddy has described an aftermarket windshield whose glass clarity caused an ADAS calibration failure.

How Does a Shop Start Ordering?

The fastest way to start is a phone call. Call the parts counter at 972-864-9725, or walk up to the counter in Garland.

  • Have the VIN or part number ready. It's the quickest way to pin down the exact GM part for the vehicle in your bay.
  • Ask whether it's in stock in Garland. If it isn't, ask what sourcing looks like before you commit the job.
  • Ask about a price match. Found the part cheaper somewhere else? Ask the counter to match it.
  • Ask about a wholesale account and delivery. The counter can walk you through setting up an account and delivery to your shop.

If your shop works on Chevys around Garland, Mesquite or Rowlett, call the parts counter before your next job stalls and ask what's on the shelf today.

Daylight Saving Time Has Ended: Is Your Car Ready for Darker Drives Home?

TL;DR Daylight saving time ended Sunday, Nov. 1, 2026, moving many DFW commutes home into darkness for the rest of the fall and winter. A five-minute check of headlights, lenses, wipers, washer fluid, windshield and mirrors helps you see and be seen. Jupiter Chevrolet in Garland checks lighting, wipers and fluids in the 151-point inspection on every service visit. If you leave work around 5:30, your drive home on I-635 now starts with headlights on, and it will through the winter. Your lights and glass suddenly matter a lot more. Here is a quick driveway check, plus what our service team looks at. How Did Nov. 1 Change Your Commute? Clocks fell back one hour at 2 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 1, 2026, so the evening rush that ran in daylight in October has moved toward dusk and dark. In April 2025 Senate testimony, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) reported that crashes resulting in pedestrian or bicyclist deaths rose 13% in the five weeks after the fall time change (2010 to 2019 data). Separate IIHS research found good-rated headlights were associated with a 19% lower nighttime single-vehicle crash rate than poor-rated ones. The clock change itself doesn't make your car any less safe. It moves more of your normal driving into the dark, which is when lights and clean glass do the most work. Your 5-Minute Visibility Check Park facing a wall or garage door, then: Headlights. Try low and high beams. Both sides should match in color and brightness. Lenses. In daylight, look for yellow or cloudy plastic. Wipers. Run them with fluid. Streaking, skipping or chattering means worn rubber. In North Texas it doesn't rain often enough to notice a cracked blade until the day you need it. Washer fluid. Top it off before evening glare hits a dusty windshield. Windshield. Look for chips or cracks in your line of sight. Clean the inside of the glass too. Mirrors. Clean all three and angle them so trailing headlights don't hit your eyes. What Should You Do About Hazy Headlights? Have them looked at. Most headlight lenses are polycarbonate plastic with a protective coating, and sunlight breaks that coating down over time. Years of strong sun exposure can speed that deterioration. In AAA testing, deteriorated headlights on low beam put out just 22% of the light of new ones. Not every hazy lens is that far gone, but if yours look yellow or dull, mention it to your service advisor. On the service drive, advisors look for fading, water inside the lens and lamps that aren't as bright as they should be. Jupiter can often correct the haze, though some headlights need to be replaced instead. Jupiter Collision Center or the Jupiter Custom Shop, both on the same Garland campus, handles the repair. What Does Jupiter Check When You Come In? Every service visit at Jupiter Chevrolet includes our 151-point inspection, which covers lighting, wipers and fluids. Results are graded green (good to go), yellow (take care of it soon) or red (needs attention now). You don't have to fix anything the same day. When you pull into the service drive, expect your service advisor to run your wipers and washer spray with you, so you can both see how they're working before winter rain and ice arrive. More in our standard service visit post. In the service drive, our drive-over scanner captures 360-degree imagery and reads tire tread. You also get a free recall, tire, and alignment check with every service visit. Not due for service? In some cases, including for existing customers, Jupiter may offer a complimentary standalone inspection, so call the service department to ask. "Basically, it's the vehicle's report card." Jason Ashcroft, Fixed Operations Director, Jupiter Chevrolet If your check turned up a dim bulb, a streaky wiper or a chipped windshield, bring it to Jupiter on I-635 in Garland before the drive home gets dark. Schedule Service at Jupiter Chevrolet in Garland, or call 972-464-1093. Frequently Asked Questions When did daylight saving time end in 2026? Daylight saving time ended Sunday, Nov. 1, 2026 at 2 a.m. local time, when clocks fell back one hour, according to the National Institute of Standards and Technology. After that, many Garland and Dallas commuters drive home in the dark. Why are my headlights yellow or cloudy? Sunlight breaks down the protective coating on plastic headlight lenses until they turn yellow or cloudy. Years of strong sun exposure can speed that up. AAA found deteriorated headlights on low beam produced just 22% of the light of new ones. If yours look hazy, ask your Jupiter Chevrolet service advisor to take a look. When the haze can be corrected, Jupiter Collision Center or the Jupiter Custom Shop handles the restoration on the same Garland campus. How often should I replace wiper blades in Texas? AAA's rule of thumb is every 6 to 12 months, and it notes that intense sun and high heat wear the rubber out faster. Texas drivers often forget them because it doesn't rain much, so replace them sooner if they streak, skip or chatter. Jupiter Chevrolet checks wipers in the 151-point inspection on every service visit. Does the Jupiter Advantage cover windshield damage? The Jupiter Advantage includes a One-Year Protection Bundle that lists windshield repair. Eligibility depends on the written program terms, so check the Jupiter Advantage page or ask Jupiter Chevrolet in Garland whether your vehicle is covered. Where can I get my headlights and wipers checked near Garland, TX? Jupiter Chevrolet on I-635 in Garland checks lighting and wipers in the 151-point inspection on every service visit. Not due for service? In some cases, including for existing customers, Jupiter may offer a complimentary standalone inspection, so call the service department to ask. Call 972-464-1093 or schedule online. It's a short drive from Mesquite, Rowlett and East Dallas. Bulb types, wiper sizes and maintenance needs vary by model and model year. Black Chevrolet Silverado 1500 crew cab with Z71 badge and black wheels

Silverado 1500 Trims Explained: Which 2026 Silverado Fits How You Actually Use a Truck?

TL;DR The 2026 Chevy Silverado 1500 comes in nine trims, from the WT work truck to the High Country and the off-road ZR2. For most North Texas buyers the choice comes down to daily use: LT or RST for commuting, WT or Custom for work, a Trail Boss or ZR2 for off-road and LTZ or High Country for comfort. Jupiter Chevrolet in Garland helps you match trim and engine to how you drive, and with the 2027s arriving, the 2026 sell-down is when GM's rebates and the biggest dealer discounts are on the table. A lot of Silverado shoppers buy for a trip they take twice a year, then pay for it every morning on I-635. In our experience, most Silverado owners don't tow anything, and a lot of the trucks we order for Garland are two-wheel drive. So this guide starts with the commute and the errands. Towing comes later, for the buyers who need it. The Quick Version: Which Silverado 1500 Trim Fits Which Driver? Pick the trim by your week. Here's how the trims line up with the way people actually use a truck: Commuter or family truck. LT or RST. The 13.4-inch touchscreen and LED headlamps, without paying for luxury or off-road hardware. Contractor or trades. WT or Custom. Simple cabins built for upfits. Weekend dirt roads or ranch land. Custom Trail Boss or LT Trail Boss, with a 2-inch factory lift and Z71 off-road suspension. Long highway miles in comfort. LTZ or High Country, with leather, ventilated front seats and more driver-assist features. Serious off-road. ZR2, with Multimatic DSSV dampers and 33-inch mud-terrain tires. All Nine 2026 Silverado 1500 Trims at a Glance Trim What sets it apart Best for WT Basic work cabin, 17-inch wheels, vinyl seating, standard 2.7L TurboMax Fleets and job sites Custom Body-color bumpers, 20-inch wheels, EZ Lift tailgate Work trucks that double as personal trucks Custom Trail Boss 2-inch factory lift, Z71 suspension, standard 4WD, skid plates Off-road on a tighter build LT Chrome trim, LED headlamps, 13.4-inch touchscreen, 12.3-inch driver display Daily driving and family duty RST Sport styling, heated front seats, 6.2L V8 available Daily drivers who want a sharper look LT Trail Boss LT interior plus the 2-inch lift and Z71 suspension One truck for the commute and the trail LTZ Leather seating, ventilated front seats, Bose audio, power tailgate, standard 5.3L V8 Comfort on long drives High Country Top luxury trim, standard 5.3L V8, Super Cruise available Highway miles and towing in comfort ZR2 Multimatic DSSV dampers, 33-inch mud-terrain tires, Technology Package standard Hard-core off-road Features vary by cab, bed and package. The 2027 Silverado is a redesign with new 5.7L and 6.6L V8s and a restructured trim lineup that drops the RST and LTZ names. See whether a 2026 is still a good buy. If you don't need the all-new truck, the 2026 sell-down is the time to buy. During the model-year changeover, GM puts most of its rebates on the outgoing 2026s, and that's also when the biggest dealer discounts show up. The 2027s are arriving at dealers by the end of the year and will carry few rebates at first, so the best deal on a new Silverado right now is usually a 2026. Which Silverado 1500 Engine Is Right for Daily Driving? For most commuters, the choice is between the 2.7L TurboMax and the 5.3L V8. The TurboMax makes 310 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque, which is more torque than the 5.3L V8 (355 horsepower, 383 lb-ft). In plain terms, the "small engine" pulls hard from a stop and rates better on fuel economy in 2WD. The V8 tows more with the right package. Drive them back to back before you decide. EPA combined ratings for 2026 Silverado 1500 models, per fueleconomy.gov: 3.0L Duramax diesel (305 hp, 495 lb-ft). 25 mpg combined in 2WD (23 city, 28 highway), 23 combined in 4WD. Best mileage in the lineup; diesel needs diesel exhaust fluid top-offs. 2.7L TurboMax. 19 to 20 mpg combined in 2WD. 5.3L V8. 17 to 18 mpg combined in 2WD, 17 in 4WD. 6.2L V8 (420 hp, 460 lb-ft). 17 mpg combined in 4WD. EPA ratings change with cab, drivetrain and wheels, so check the window sticker on the exact truck. One Jupiter-specific note: the 6.2L V8 isn't eligible for Jupiter's Lifetime Powertrain Warranty. If that warranty matters to you, it's worth factoring into the engine choice. Off-road trims on bigger tires can rate lower. Towing by engine, with the configuration behind each number: 2.7L TurboMax: up to 9,500 lb (Regular Cab Long Bed 2WD). 5.3L V8: up to 11,300 lb (2WD Double Cab or Crew Cab Short Bed with the Max Trailering Package). 6.2L V8: up to 13,200 lb (Crew Cab 4WD with the Max Trailering Package and 20-inch wheels). 3.0L Duramax: the highest rating in the lineup, covered in the towing section below. LT or RST: The Daily Driver Trims The LT and RST share the same core truck. The difference is mostly look and a few options. LT leans on chrome trim. RST goes body-color and sportier, and it's one of the trims where the 6.2L V8 is available. Both can be ordered with the TurboMax, 5.3L V8 or Duramax. For a Mesquite-to-Dallas commute in a 2WD crew cab, either one with the TurboMax or Duramax is a sensible pick. Browse new Silverado 1500 inventory on the lot in Garland. If It's a Work Truck: WT and Custom, Plus Upfits The WT is built to be worked: vinyl seating, simple controls and the standard 2.7L TurboMax, with the 5.3L V8 available on double and crew cabs. The Custom adds 20-inch wheels, body-color bumpers and an EZ Lift tailgate for owners who drive the work truck home and on weekends. If the job needs racks, a bed liner, lighting or other upfits, the Jupiter Custom Shop handles that work in Garland, including Rhino Linings spray-in bed liners installed on-site. If You Want Comfort or Off-Road: LTZ, High Country, Trail Boss and ZR2 Comfort. The LTZ brings perforated leather seating, ventilated front seats, Bose audio and a standard 5.3L V8. The High Country tops the lineup, and for 2026 it's the trim that offers Super Cruise hands-free driving on compatible roads. Off-road. Both Trail Boss trims add a 2-inch factory lift and Z71 suspension. The Custom Trail Boss keeps the cabin simple, while the LT Trail Boss adds LT features. The ZR2 is the specialist, with Multimatic DSSV dampers, 33-inch mud-terrain tires and the 6.2L V8 or Duramax. If You Tow: Boats, Campers and Trailers in North Texas If you tow often, the Max Trailering Package matters more than the trim. Chevrolet's top 2026 Silverado 1500 rating is 13,300 lb, for a Double Cab Standard Bed 2WD with the 3.0L Duramax, Max Trailering Package and 20-inch wheels. That number belongs to one configuration. Every other combination of engine, cab, bed, axle and wheels has its own rating, so ask for the rating on the specific truck. Ratings depend on cab, bed, axle ratio and wheels. For boat owners heading to Lake Ray Hubbard, our guide to the best Silverado for Lake Ray Hubbard weekends walks through ramp-day setups. What to Ask on Your Test Drive at Jupiter Bring your normal routine to the test drive and cover these: Drive the 2.7L TurboMax and the 5.3L V8 back to back, including a merge onto I-635. Ask whether you need 4WD, or whether 2WD fits how you drive. Read the EPA fuel economy label on the window sticker for that exact truck. If you tow, ask for the tow rating for that cab, bed, axle and wheel combination. Load the back seat and bed the way you will: car seats, tool boxes, coolers. Ask what dealer-installed accessories are on the truck and what they cost. We explain that before the deal is finalized. Buy for how you'll use the truck next Tuesday. Come see the 2026 lineup on the lot in Garland while sell-down pricing lasts. Schedule a Test Drive at Jupiter Chevrolet in Garland, or call 972-464-1093. Frequently Asked Questions What's the difference between the Silverado LT and RST? The LT and RST are the same core truck with a different look. The LT uses chrome trim, while the RST goes body-color and sportier and offers the 6.2L V8. Both get the 13.4-inch touchscreen and can be ordered with the TurboMax, 5.3L V8 or Duramax. Compare both at Jupiter Chevrolet in Garland. Is the small engine in a Silverado a good engine? Yes, for most drivers. The 2026 Silverado's 2.7L TurboMax makes 310 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque, more torque than the 5.3L V8. It rates 19 to 20 mpg combined in 2WD and tows up to 9,500 lb in the right configuration. Drive it against the V8 at Jupiter Chevrolet in Garland. Which Silverado gets the best gas mileage? The 2026 Silverado 1500 with the 3.0L Duramax diesel gets the best mileage, rated 25 mpg combined in 2WD by the EPA. Among gas engines, the 2.7L TurboMax rates 19 to 20 mpg combined in 2WD. Diesel needs diesel exhaust fluid, so factor that into your costs. Which Silverado 1500 engine is best for towing? The 3.0L Duramax diesel and 6.2L V8 carry the highest maximum tow ratings in the 2026 Silverado 1500 lineup, both above 13,000 lb with the Max Trailering Package. The 5.3L V8 tops out at 11,300 lb with that package. Ratings change with cab, bed, axle and wheels, so ask Jupiter Chevrolet for the number on the truck you're considering. How much can a 2026 Silverado 1500 tow? A 2026 Silverado 1500 can tow up to 13,300 lb when it's a Double Cab Standard Bed 2WD with the 3.0L Duramax, Max Trailering Package and 20-inch wheels. That maximum doesn't apply to every Silverado, so Jupiter Chevrolet in Garland can confirm the rating for the specific truck you're considering. Is the Trail Boss worth it for Texas driving? A Trail Boss is worth it if you regularly drive ranch roads, hunting leases or muddy lake access. It adds a 2-inch factory lift, Z71 suspension and standard 4WD. If your miles are mostly I-635 and city streets, an LT or RST will ride quieter and cost less to run. Drive both at Jupiter Chevrolet in Garland. Does the Silverado qualify for Jupiter's Lifetime Powertrain Warranty? Most do. Qualifying new Chevrolets purchased from Jupiter Chevrolet come with the Lifetime Powertrain Warranty at no additional cost, but Silverados with the 6.2L V8 aren't eligible. Chevrolet Silverado trucks lined up under the Jupiter Chevrolet sign on the lot in Garland, Texas

Is a 2026 Chevy Still a Good Buy Now That the 2027s Are Arriving?

TL;DR It depends on the model, but for most of the lineup, yes. The Tahoe, Suburban, Traverse and all-wheel-drive Equinox change very little for 2027, and there's no reported 2027 gas Blazer. The Silverado 1500 is fully redesigned and the Colorado gains 40 horsepower, so those two deserve a closer look. Qualifying 2026s at Jupiter get the same Jupiter Advantage benefits. Every fall, the same thing happens. The new model year starts showing up, and people who were ready to buy start wondering if they should wait. It's a fair question. Nobody wants to drive home in what feels like last year's model. Here's the honest answer, model by model. For Most Chevy Models, How Different Is the 2027? For most of the Chevy lineup, a 2026 is still a good buy even with the 2027s arriving. The biggest exceptions are the Silverado 1500, which gets a full redesign, and the Colorado, which gains 40 horsepower. Front-wheel-drive Equinox models also get an 8-speed automatic for 2027, and the Trax is expected to receive a styling refresh. For the Tahoe, Suburban and Traverse, the changes are more limited, while all-wheel-drive Equinox models already use the 8-speed automatic. So before deciding that a 2027 is automatically worth waiting for, look at what actually changed on the Chevrolet you're shopping. That's what we'll break down next. What Changes for 2027, Model by Model? Here's what Chevrolet and published industry reporting show for the 2027 model year, as of October 2026. What changes for 2027 Chevrolet models, and what it means if you are shopping a 2026 Model What changes for 2027 How big is the change? What does it mean if you're shopping now? Equinox Front-wheel-drive models move from a CVT to an 8-speed automatic. New color and camera-related equipment changes are also expected. Small to moderate If you want a front-wheel-drive Equinox with the 8-speed, the 2027 is worth a look. AWD models already use it. Trax Early reporting and undisguised prototypes point to refreshed front and rear styling and an updated interior. Full 2027 details have not yet been officially announced by Chevrolet. Moderate, mostly styling If having the refreshed look matters to you, waiting may make sense. Otherwise, compare the 2026 against the 2027 once Chevrolet releases the full details. Traverse Two new colors, new wheels and an interior camera. Industry reporting also points to a shortened 2027 production run ahead of a refreshed 2028. Small There isn't a major redesign for 2027. The bigger change is expected for 2028. Colorado The updated 2.7L TurboMax increases output from 310 to 350 horsepower, along with an increase in torque. Three new colors and 5G Wi-Fi capability are also reported for 2027. Moderate The extra 40 horsepower is a legitimate reason to compare the 2027 closely with a 2026, especially if performance matters to you. Tahoe and Suburban New White Sands paint, package changes and standard heated and ventilated front seats on RST models. Small If those particular changes don't matter to you, there isn't a major redesign separating the 2026 and 2027. Both are built at GM's Arlington Assembly plant here in North Texas. Blazer (gas) Industry reporting says Chevrolet will skip the 2027 model year for the gas Blazer, with a refreshed 2028 expected afterward. No 2027 gas model If you're shopping for a new gas Blazer, the 2026 is the current model rather than the outgoing version of a vehicle being replaced by a 2027. Silverado 1500 Full redesign with new V8 engines, larger standard screens and a revised trim lineup. Major This is the model where waiting for the 2027 deserves a much closer look. We'll break it down next. The pattern is pretty clear: the decision isn't simply 2026 versus 2027 across the entire Chevrolet lineup. On several models, the changes are relatively limited. On others, a specific update may matter to you. And with the Silverado 1500, the differences are substantial enough to warrant their own discussion. The Biggest 2027 Change Is the Redesigned Silverado 1500 The 2027 Silverado 1500 is a full redesign, so this is one model where waiting deserves a closer look. Chevrolet revealed the next-generation truck in June 2026 and says it is expected to reach dealerships near the end of 2026. The biggest changes include: New V8 engines. The next-generation Silverado introduces new 5.7L and 6.6L V8 engines in place of the current 5.3L and 6.2L V8s. The 2.7L TurboMax is updated, while the 3.0L Duramax diesel continues. Larger screens. Every trim gets a standard 16.3-inch center display and 12.2-inch driver display. A new trim lineup. The lineup becomes Work Truck, Custom, Custom Trail Boss, Silverado, Trail Boss, ZR2 and High Country. The familiar LT, RST and LTZ names go away. So why would you still consider a 2026 Silverado? You prefer the current V8s. If you've driven the 5.3L or 6.2L V8 and that's the powertrain you want, the 2026 gives you that option. You want one of the current trims. If you've been shopping an LT, RST or LTZ, those trim names don't continue into the redesigned lineup. You need a truck now. The 2026 is available now, while the redesigned 2027 is expected to begin reaching dealerships near the end of 2026. On the other hand, if the new V8s, larger screens or redesigned truck are what you really want, waiting for the 2027 makes sense. That's exactly why this isn't a blanket "buy the 2026" recommendation. "If price is a major concern, the 2026 is always the best choice. Unless a major body change occurred between years, the majority of the rebates and dealer discounts will be heavily weighted towards the sell down of current model years. It's traditionally where your biggest savings will be. If price is not an issue, my opinion will always favor towards a new model year." Eric Fussell, General Manager, Jupiter Chevrolet What Does a 2026 From Jupiter Chevrolet Come With? Choosing a 2026 instead of waiting for a 2027 doesn't mean giving up Jupiter's ownership benefits. Qualifying new 2026 vehicles receive the same Jupiter Advantage benefits as qualifying new 2027 vehicles. That includes: Lifetime Powertrain Warranty on qualifying new vehicles at no additional cost. To keep the warranty active, required maintenance must be completed at Jupiter Chevrolet in Garland within every 5,000-mile interval. See the Jupiter Advantage for complete program details, eligibility requirements, coverage and exclusions. When Does Waiting for the 2027 Actually Make Sense? Waiting makes sense when the 2027 changes something you'll actually use: the redesigned Silverado 1500, the Colorado's extra 40 horsepower, the 8-speed automatic in a front-wheel-drive Equinox or the expected Trax styling refresh. For the Tahoe, Suburban and Traverse, the 2027 changes are limited, and there's no reported 2027 gas Blazer to wait for. If none of the changes on your model matter to you, there's less reason to wait solely for the newer model year. What Happens to 2026 Inventory as the 2027s Arrive? As 2027 models begin arriving, the selection of new 2026 vehicles naturally gets smaller. Once production of a model year ends, the remaining 2026 supply is limited to vehicles that have already been built or are still in transit. For example, production of the 2027 Tahoe and Suburban was scheduled to begin at GM's Arlington Assembly plant in September 2026, while production of the 2026 gas Blazer was scheduled to end that same month. That doesn't mean a particular 2026 vehicle is about to disappear, and we won't tell you it is. It does mean that if you have a specific trim, color or option combination in mind, your 2026 selection can narrow as the model-year changeover continues. If you're ready to look, browse Jupiter Chevrolet's new inventory or schedule a test drive. If you're deciding between a 2026 and 2027, ask us to compare the specific models you're considering so you can see whether the newer model year actually gives you something worth waiting for. Browse New Inventory Frequently Asked Questions When do 2027 Chevys arrive at dealerships? 2027 Chevrolets arrive at different times depending on the model. Production of the 2027 Tahoe and Suburban was scheduled to begin at GM's Arlington Assembly plant in September 2026, while Chevrolet says the redesigned 2027 Silverado 1500 is expected to reach dealerships near the end of 2026. Ask Jupiter Chevrolet about expected timing for the specific model you're considering. Is the 2027 Silverado 1500 a redesign? Yes. The 2027 Silverado 1500 is a full redesign with new 5.7L and 6.6L V8 engines, larger standard screens and a revised trim lineup. The 2026 Silverado keeps the familiar 5.3L and 6.2L V8s, so which model year makes more sense depends partly on which powertrain, technology and trim you prefer. Is there a 2027 Chevy Blazer? Not a gas one, based on current industry reporting. Chevrolet is expected to skip the 2027 model year for the gas Blazer, with a refreshed 2028 model reported to follow. That makes the 2026 the current gas Blazer while the Blazer EV continues separately. Does a 2026 model qualify for Jupiter's Lifetime Powertrain Warranty? Yes, qualifying new 2026 vehicles purchased at Jupiter Chevrolet come with the Lifetime Powertrain Warranty at no additional cost, just like qualifying new 2027 vehicles. To keep the warranty active, required maintenance must be completed at Jupiter Chevrolet in Garland within every 5,000-mile interval. Ask the sales team to confirm that a specific vehicle qualifies, and see the written Jupiter Advantage terms for complete coverage and eligibility details. Will buying a 2026 instead of a 2027 affect resale value? It can. Model year is one of several factors that can affect a vehicle's future resale value, along with mileage, condition, equipment and market demand. The actual difference between a 2026 and 2027 will depend on the specific model and the market when you eventually sell or trade it, so we wouldn't assume a specific future value based on model year alone. Should I wait for a 2027 Chevy or buy a 2026? For most models, compare the specific changes before deciding. Waiting deserves a closer look if you want the redesigned 2027 Silverado 1500, the more powerful 2027 Colorado, the 8-speed automatic in a front-wheel-drive 2027 Equinox, or the expected styling changes to the 2027 Trax. For models with more limited changes, a 2026 may give you what you want without waiting for the newer model year. Where can I buy a new 2026 Chevy near Garland, TX?
