Is a 2026 Chevy Still a Good Buy Now That the 2027s Are Arriving?

TL;DR It depends on the model, but for most of the lineup, yes. The Tahoe, Suburban, Traverse and all-wheel-drive Equinox change very little for 2027, and there's no reported 2027 gas Blazer. The Silverado 1500 is fully redesigned and the Colorado gains 40 horsepower, so those two deserve a closer look. Qualifying 2026s at Jupiter get the same Jupiter Advantage benefits. Every fall, the same thing happens. The new model year starts showing up, and people who were ready to buy start wondering if they should wait. It's a fair question. Nobody wants to drive home in what feels like last year's model. Here's the honest answer, model by model. For Most Chevy Models, How Different Is the 2027? For most of the Chevy lineup, a 2026 is still a good buy even with the 2027s arriving. The biggest exceptions are the Silverado 1500, which gets a full redesign, and the Colorado, which gains 40 horsepower. Front-wheel-drive Equinox models also get an 8-speed automatic for 2027, and the Trax is expected to receive a styling refresh. For the Tahoe, Suburban and Traverse, the changes are more limited, while all-wheel-drive Equinox models already use the 8-speed automatic. So before deciding that a 2027 is automatically worth waiting for, look at what actually changed on the Chevrolet you're shopping. That's what we'll break down next. What Changes for 2027, Model by Model? Here's what Chevrolet and published industry reporting show for the 2027 model year, as of October 2026. What changes for 2027 Chevrolet models, and what it means if you are shopping a 2026 Model What changes for 2027 How big is the change? What does it mean if you're shopping now? Equinox Front-wheel-drive models move from a CVT to an 8-speed automatic. New color and camera-related equipment changes are also expected. Small to moderate If you want a front-wheel-drive Equinox with the 8-speed, the 2027 is worth a look. AWD models already use it. Trax Early reporting and undisguised prototypes point to refreshed front and rear styling and an updated interior. Full 2027 details have not yet been officially announced by Chevrolet. Moderate, mostly styling If having the refreshed look matters to you, waiting may make sense. Otherwise, compare the 2026 against the 2027 once Chevrolet releases the full details. Traverse Two new colors, new wheels and an interior camera. Industry reporting also points to a shortened 2027 production run ahead of a refreshed 2028. Small There isn't a major redesign for 2027. The bigger change is expected for 2028. Colorado The updated 2.7L TurboMax increases output from 310 to 350 horsepower, along with an increase in torque. Three new colors and 5G Wi-Fi capability are also reported for 2027. Moderate The extra 40 horsepower is a legitimate reason to compare the 2027 closely with a 2026, especially if performance matters to you. Tahoe and Suburban New White Sands paint, package changes and standard heated and ventilated front seats on RST models. Small If those particular changes don't matter to you, there isn't a major redesign separating the 2026 and 2027. Both are built at GM's Arlington Assembly plant here in North Texas. Blazer (gas) Industry reporting says Chevrolet will skip the 2027 model year for the gas Blazer, with a refreshed 2028 expected afterward. No 2027 gas model If you're shopping for a new gas Blazer, the 2026 is the current model rather than the outgoing version of a vehicle being replaced by a 2027. Silverado 1500 Full redesign with new V8 engines, larger standard screens and a revised trim lineup. Major This is the model where waiting for the 2027 deserves a much closer look. We'll break it down next. The pattern is pretty clear: the decision isn't simply 2026 versus 2027 across the entire Chevrolet lineup. On several models, the changes are relatively limited. On others, a specific update may matter to you. And with the Silverado 1500, the differences are substantial enough to warrant their own discussion. The Biggest 2027 Change Is the Redesigned Silverado 1500 The 2027 Silverado 1500 is a full redesign, so this is one model where waiting deserves a closer look. Chevrolet revealed the next-generation truck in June 2026 and says it is expected to reach dealerships near the end of 2026. The biggest changes include: New V8 engines. The next-generation Silverado introduces new 5.7L and 6.6L V8 engines in place of the current 5.3L and 6.2L V8s. The 2.7L TurboMax is updated, while the 3.0L Duramax diesel continues. Larger screens. Every trim gets a standard 16.3-inch center display and 12.2-inch driver display. A new trim lineup. The lineup becomes Work Truck, Custom, Custom Trail Boss, Silverado, Trail Boss, ZR2 and High Country. The familiar LT, RST and LTZ names go away. So why would you still consider a 2026 Silverado? You prefer the current V8s. If you've driven the 5.3L or 6.2L V8 and that's the powertrain you want, the 2026 gives you that option. You want one of the current trims. If you've been shopping an LT, RST or LTZ, those trim names don't continue into the redesigned lineup. You need a truck now. The 2026 is available now, while the redesigned 2027 is expected to begin reaching dealerships near the end of 2026. On the other hand, if the new V8s, larger screens or redesigned truck are what you really want, waiting for the 2027 makes sense. That's exactly why this isn't a blanket "buy the 2026" recommendation. "If price is a major concern, the 2026 is always the best choice. Unless a major body change occurred between years, the majority of the rebates and dealer discounts will be heavily weighted towards the sell down of current model years. It's traditionally where your biggest savings will be. If price is not an issue, my opinion will always favor towards a new model year." Eric Fussell, General Manager, Jupiter Chevrolet What Does a 2026 From Jupiter Chevrolet Come With? Choosing a 2026 instead of waiting for a 2027 doesn't mean giving up Jupiter's ownership benefits. Qualifying new 2026 vehicles receive the same Jupiter Advantage benefits as qualifying new 2027 vehicles. That includes: Lifetime Powertrain Warranty on qualifying new vehicles at no additional cost. To keep the warranty active, required maintenance must be completed at Jupiter Chevrolet in Garland within every 5,000-mile interval. Complimentary recall, tire and alignment checks with every service visit. Loaner vehicles during qualifying service visits, subject to availability. Collision deductible reimbursement on qualifying claims repaired at Jupiter Collision Center. Appearance protection for qualifying repairs including door dings, wheel repair, interior repair and windshield repair. You also have Jupiter Chevrolet's service department on I-635 in Garland for maintenance and repairs after the sale. See the Jupiter Advantage for complete program details, eligibility requirements, coverage and exclusions. When Does Waiting for the 2027 Actually Make Sense? Waiting makes sense when the 2027 changes something you'll actually use: the redesigned Silverado 1500, the Colorado's extra 40 horsepower, the 8-speed automatic in a front-wheel-drive Equinox or the expected Trax styling refresh. For the Tahoe, Suburban and Traverse, the 2027 changes are limited, and there's no reported 2027 gas Blazer to wait for. If none of the changes on your model matter to you, there's less reason to wait solely for the newer model year. What Happens to 2026 Inventory as the 2027s Arrive? As 2027 models begin arriving, the selection of new 2026 vehicles naturally gets smaller. Once production of a model year ends, the remaining 2026 supply is limited to vehicles that have already been built or are still in transit. For example, production of the 2027 Tahoe and Suburban was scheduled to begin at GM's Arlington Assembly plant in September 2026, while production of the 2026 gas Blazer was scheduled to end that same month. That doesn't mean a particular 2026 vehicle is about to disappear, and we won't tell you it is. It does mean that if you have a specific trim, color or option combination in mind, your 2026 selection can narrow as the model-year changeover continues. If you're ready to look, browse Jupiter Chevrolet's new inventory or schedule a test drive. If you're deciding between a 2026 and 2027, ask us to compare the specific models you're considering so you can see whether the newer model year actually gives you something worth waiting for. Browse New Inventory Frequently Asked Questions When do 2027 Chevys arrive at dealerships? 2027 Chevrolets arrive at different times depending on the model. Production of the 2027 Tahoe and Suburban was scheduled to begin at GM's Arlington Assembly plant in September 2026, while Chevrolet says the redesigned 2027 Silverado 1500 is expected to reach dealerships near the end of 2026. Ask Jupiter Chevrolet about expected timing for the specific model you're considering. Is the 2027 Silverado 1500 a redesign? Yes. The 2027 Silverado 1500 is a full redesign with new 5.7L and 6.6L V8 engines, larger standard screens and a revised trim lineup. The 2026 Silverado keeps the familiar 5.3L and 6.2L V8s, so which model year makes more sense depends partly on which powertrain, technology and trim you prefer. Is there a 2027 Chevy Blazer? Not a gas one, based on current industry reporting. Chevrolet is expected to skip the 2027 model year for the gas Blazer, with a refreshed 2028 model reported to follow. That makes the 2026 the current gas Blazer while the Blazer EV continues separately. Does a 2026 model qualify for Jupiter's Lifetime Powertrain Warranty? Yes, qualifying new 2026 vehicles purchased at Jupiter Chevrolet come with the Lifetime Powertrain Warranty at no additional cost, just like qualifying new 2027 vehicles. To keep the warranty active, required maintenance must be completed at Jupiter Chevrolet in Garland within every 5,000-mile interval. Ask the sales team to confirm that a specific vehicle qualifies, and see the written Jupiter Advantage terms for complete coverage and eligibility details. Will buying a 2026 instead of a 2027 affect resale value? It can. Model year is one of several factors that can affect a vehicle's future resale value, along with mileage, condition, equipment and market demand. The actual difference between a 2026 and 2027 will depend on the specific model and the market when you eventually sell or trade it, so we wouldn't assume a specific future value based on model year alone. Should I wait for a 2027 Chevy or buy a 2026? For most models, compare the specific changes before deciding. Waiting deserves a closer look if you want the redesigned 2027 Silverado 1500, the more powerful 2027 Colorado, the 8-speed automatic in a front-wheel-drive 2027 Equinox, or the expected styling changes to the 2027 Trax. For models with more limited changes, a 2026 may give you what you want without waiting for the newer model year. Where can I buy a new 2026 Chevy near Garland, TX? Jupiter Chevrolet is on I-635 in Garland and serves shoppers from Garland, Mesquite, Rowlett, Rockwall, East Dallas and surrounding DFW communities. Browse current new inventory online or contact Jupiter Chevrolet to confirm availability of the model, trim and color you're looking for. Qualifying new vehicles include Jupiter Advantage ownership benefits such as the Lifetime Powertrain Warranty. Is the 2027 Chevy Colorado different from the 2026? Yes. The updated 2.7L TurboMax in the 2027 Colorado increases output from 310 to 350 horsepower, along with an increase in torque. Other reported changes include new colors and 5G Wi-Fi capability. If the additional power matters to you, the 2027 is worth comparing closely with a 2026. About the Author Eric Fussell is the General Manager of Jupiter Chevrolet in Garland, Texas. Who Can Service a Chevy EV in DFW? Inside Jupiter Chevrolet's EV Service in Garland

TL;DR Chevy EVs skip oil changes, spark plugs and engine belts, but tires, brakes, cabin air filters, coolant and software still need attention. High-voltage battery work belongs with EV-trained Chevrolet technicians. Jupiter Chevrolet in Garland is a GM EV-certified service facility and handles Chevy EV diagnosis and battery warranty repairs on site. If you own an Equinox EV, Blazer EV, Silverado EV or Bolt, you've probably noticed the maintenance reminders don't look like they did on your last gas vehicle. No oil changes. No spark plugs. But an EV still has tires, brakes, coolant, a 12-volt battery, software and a high-voltage battery system that may need service over the life of the vehicle. The question is which work can be handled like routine vehicle maintenance and which work needs EV-trained Chevrolet technicians. Here's what a Chevy EV needs, when specialized EV service matters and how EV service works at Jupiter Chevrolet on I-635 in Garland. What Does a Chevy EV Need for Maintenance? A Chevy EV generally has fewer routine maintenance items than a gas vehicle. Chevrolet notes that EV owners can skip maintenance such as oil changes, spark plugs, engine belts and engine air filters. But there are still parts and systems that need regular attention. Here's what stays on the list: Tires. Tire condition, pressure and rotation still matter on an EV. Follow the maintenance schedule for your specific Chevrolet and rotate the tires when recommended. Jupiter also checks tire tread and alignment when vehicles come through the service lane. Brakes. Regenerative braking uses the electric motor to help slow the vehicle, which can reduce use of the friction brakes. The brake system still needs to be inspected and maintained according to Chevrolet's schedule for your vehicle. Cabin air filter and wipers. These are still routine maintenance items on an EV and should be replaced as needed. Coolant and the battery thermal system. Chevy EVs use thermal-management systems to help keep the high-voltage battery within its intended operating range. Coolant inspection and service requirements depend on the vehicle and maintenance schedule. The 12-volt battery. Chevy EVs still have a low-voltage battery that supports vehicle electronics and other systems. Software. Some vehicle software updates can arrive over the air, while others may require a dealership visit, including certain recall-related updates. Your Chevy EV's owner's manual and maintenance schedule are the best guides for the specific intervals that apply to your model and model year. When Does Your Chevy EV Need EV-Trained Chevrolet Technicians? Routine items like tires, wipers and cabin air filters are familiar maintenance. The distinction becomes more important when service involves the high-voltage battery, electric propulsion system or vehicle software and diagnostics. Chevrolet specifically directs owners to EV-trained technicians at a Certified Service Chevrolet dealership for inspection, testing or replacement of the high-voltage battery. Depending on the issue, specialized EV service can include: High-voltage battery service. Inspection, testing or replacement of the high-voltage battery requires EV training, safety procedures and the appropriate diagnostic equipment. Battery and electric propulsion warranty repairs. Warranty coverage depends on the vehicle, component and terms of the applicable Chevrolet warranty. Covered EV repairs may require service through an authorized GM EV service facility. EV system diagnostics. Charging concerns, propulsion warnings and battery-related messages may require GM diagnostic tools and vehicle-specific service information. Software and recall work. Some updates can happen over the air, while others, including certain recall-related work, may require a dealership visit. For basic maintenance, you have more options. When the concern involves the high-voltage battery or another EV-specific system, a Chevrolet dealership with EV-trained technicians has access to the GM service information, diagnostic equipment and training for that work. Who Works on EVs at Jupiter Chevrolet? Chevy EVs are serviced on site at Jupiter Chevrolet in Garland. Jupiter is a GM EV-certified service facility, and its technicians are trained to work on EV systems using the specialized diagnostic equipment, tools and safety procedures that differ from traditional gas vehicles. Jupiter's service department is led by Jason Ashcroft, Fixed Operations Director, who has been at Jupiter for more than nine years and has worked with General Motors products for more than 36 years. For first-time EV owners, Jason says the biggest difference is that EVs generally have fewer routine maintenance items than gas vehicles. There are no engine oil changes or spark plugs, but tires, brakes, suspension, alignment, cabin air filters and cooling systems still need inspection and service. Tire condition and alignment are particularly important because of an EV's weight, torque and performance characteristics. The questions Jupiter's service team hears most often are about battery health, driving range, charging, tires, service intervals and what happens if there is a problem with the high-voltage battery or EV system. As Jason puts it, the maintenance is different, but it doesn't have to be complicated. If a Chevy EV is damaged in a collision, Jupiter Collision Center is on the same campus and can handle EV collision repairs in house, including battery removal and structural repair when required. The Collision Center follows manufacturer-published safety and repair procedures, including high-voltage safety protocols when a repair involves battery isolation, removal or work near high-voltage components. What Happens When You Bring an EV to Jupiter for Service? A Chevy EV service visit at Jupiter starts much like any other service visit, with a few checks that are especially useful on an EV. You drive over the service-lane scanner. Every vehicle that comes in for service, EVs included, passes over Jupiter's drive-over scanner as it enters the service lane. The scanner measures tread depth on each tire and captures 360-degree imagery of the vehicle. Tire, alignment and open-recall results appear on a large monitor in the service lane as you pull in. Your vehicle gets a complimentary multi-point inspection. Jupiter checks items such as tires, brakes and fluids, along with complimentary checks for alignment and open recalls. Jason Ashcroft describes the multi-point inspection as "basically, it's the vehicle's report card." The results are easy to read. The inspection uses green, yellow and red readings to show what looks good, what should be planned for and what needs attention. The same color system appears with the service-lane results, making tire wear or low tread easier to spot. Your service advisor reviews what was found. Your advisor can walk you through the inspection results, explain any recommended service and review the next steps with you before additional work begins. How Does the Chevy EV Battery Warranty Work? Chevrolet's EV battery and electric propulsion limited warranty covers eligible components for 8 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. Coverage depends on the specific vehicle, component and warranty terms, so check the warranty information for your model and model year. If you notice a battery or propulsion warning, charging problem or another concern with the high-voltage system, Jupiter Chevrolet can diagnose the issue on site in Garland. Jupiter is a GM EV-certified service facility, and its EV-trained technicians have the training, diagnostic equipment, tools and safety procedures required to work on EV systems. If the diagnosis identifies a covered high-voltage battery or electric propulsion issue, Jupiter handles the warranty repair on site as well. That means owners can have the vehicle diagnosed and repaired at Jupiter rather than having the battery work sent to another facility. A couple of things worth knowing before you ever need it: Keep your service records. Having your vehicle's maintenance and repair history available can be helpful if a warranty concern comes up. Don't ignore battery or propulsion warnings. If your Chevy EV displays a battery, charging or propulsion warning, schedule service so the issue can be diagnosed. Check your warranty booklet. Coverage details can vary by model and model year, and your warranty information spells out what applies to your specific vehicle. How Do I Book EV Service at Jupiter Chevrolet? Booking EV service at Jupiter works the same way as scheduling other Chevrolet service. You can schedule online or call the service department at 972-464-1093. Service hours are 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM Monday through Friday and 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM Saturday. The service department is closed Sunday. When you schedule, mention that you're bringing in a Chevy EV and describe what you're experiencing, especially if you've seen a warning message, had a charging problem or noticed a change in vehicle performance. That gives the service team more information about the concern before you arrive. If you can't get there during regular service hours, Jupiter also offers 24-hour service drop-off, so you can leave your vehicle and keys after the service department has closed. If you'll need transportation while your EV is being serviced, ask about loaner vehicle availability when you schedule. Loaner vehicles are available for qualifying service visits, subject to availability. Jupiter Chevrolet is located on I-635 in Garland and serves Chevy EV owners throughout Garland and the surrounding DFW area. Schedule EV Service Frequently Asked Questions Do electric Chevys need oil changes? No. Battery-electric Chevrolets like the Equinox EV, Blazer EV, Silverado EV and Bolt do not have a gas engine, so there is no engine oil to change. They still need maintenance and inspections for items such as tires, brakes, suspension, alignment, cabin air filters and cooling systems, which Jupiter Chevrolet services on site in Garland. Can any mechanic work on a Chevy EV? For routine items such as tires, wipers and cabin air filters, you have more options. Work involving the high-voltage battery or other EV-specific systems requires specialized training, diagnostic equipment, tools and safety procedures. Jupiter Chevrolet is a GM EV-certified service facility and services Chevy EVs on site in Garland. Does Jupiter service Chevy EVs bought at other dealerships? Yes. You do not have to buy your Chevy EV from Jupiter to have it serviced here. Jupiter Chevrolet services Chevy EVs at its GM EV-certified service facility in Garland, including eligible warranty work. How often should a Chevy EV be serviced? Follow the maintenance schedule and reminders for your specific Chevrolet EV, since service intervals vary by model and model year. As a starting point, Chevrolet recommends a tire rotation about every 7,500 miles. Every time your EV comes into Jupiter Chevrolet in Garland for service, it also gets a complimentary multi-point inspection with alignment and open-recall checks. Where can I get my Chevy EV serviced near Garland, TX? Jupiter Chevrolet on I-635 in Garland is a GM EV-certified service facility and services Chevy EVs on site, including the Equinox EV, Blazer EV, Silverado EV and Bolt. You can schedule online, call the service department at 972-464-1093 or use Jupiter's 24-hour service drop-off. Do EVs go through tires faster than gas vehicles? They can experience different tire wear because of factors including vehicle weight, torque, tire design and driving style. Jason Ashcroft, Jupiter Chevrolet's Fixed Operations Director, specifically notes that tire condition and alignment are important maintenance considerations on an EV. Every vehicle that enters Jupiter's service lane, including EVs, passes over a scanner that measures tread depth on each tire. Can Jupiter Chevrolet fix a high-voltage EV battery? Yes. Why Buy New at Jupiter Chevrolet? The Warranty, the Pricing and the Shop Behind It

TL;DR Buying a new Chevrolet at Jupiter Chevrolet in Garland, Texas includes Lifetime Powertrain Warranty eligibility on every new Chevrolet except Corvette through the Jupiter Advantage, a walkthrough of dealer-installed accessories and costs before you sign, access to Jupiter's in-house Custom Shop and sales, service, parts and collision support on the same Garland campus. Coverage stays active by completing required maintenance at Jupiter Chevrolet within every 5,000 miles, and carries eligibility requirements worth understanding before you count on it. A 2026 Silverado is a 2026 Silverado. Chevrolet builds it, and the truck sitting on a lot in Garland is the same truck sitting on a lot anywhere else in Dallas-Fort Worth. What changes from one dealership to the next is everything attached to it. What the warranty covers and what keeps it active. What appears on the price besides the price. Who handles the vehicle after you drive it off, and whether that is the same organization that sold it to you. So this is less about the Chevrolet itself and more about what comes with buying one at Jupiter: the warranty, the pricing conversation, the Custom Shop and the people who will still be here to service or repair it after the sale. What Comes With a New Chevy at Jupiter That Does Not Come With the Vehicle Itself The vehicle itself is only part of what you are buying. At Jupiter, there are a few things attached to the purchase that are worth understanding before you sign. Lifetime Powertrain Warranty coverage. Every new Chevrolet purchased from Jupiter is eligible at no additional cost through the Jupiter Advantage, except Corvette models. There are maintenance requirements to keep that coverage active, which we will get into below. A clearer look at the actual price. Dealer-installed accessories can vary from one vehicle to the next. The important part is knowing what is on the specific vehicle you are considering, what it costs and what your total number looks like before you sign. Access to the Custom Shop. Lifts, wheels, tint, bed liners and other upgrades are handled in house, with the Custom Shop on the same Garland campus. Jupiter Advantage ownership benefits. Beyond the powertrain coverage, qualifying vehicles may receive additional benefits including collision deductible reimbursement and wheel-repair protection, subject to the program terms. One address for the rest of it. Sales, service, parts, custom work and Jupiter Collision Center are all on the same Garland campus. The rest of this guide breaks down what those things mean in practice, including the requirements that come with them. Because a benefit is only useful if you understand what you are actually getting and what you have to do to keep it. The Lifetime Powertrain Warranty: What Qualifies and What Keeps It Active Every new Chevrolet purchased from Jupiter Chevrolet is eligible for the Lifetime Powertrain Warranty, with the exception of Corvette models. It comes at no additional cost as part of the Jupiter Advantage and covers major powertrain components such as the engine, transmission, transfer case where equipped and drive axles for as long as you own the vehicle, subject to the terms, conditions, maintenance requirements and exclusions in the written warranty. There is an important difference between receiving the coverage and keeping it active. Required maintenance has to be completed within every 5,000 miles, and that maintenance has to be performed at Jupiter Chevrolet in Garland. Having the same work completed at another GM dealership or an independent repair shop does not satisfy that requirement. That is worth knowing before you buy. If you plan to keep servicing the vehicle at Jupiter, the requirement fits naturally into that ownership routine. If you live farther away, move out of the area or prefer to have maintenance performed somewhere else, it is something to consider before treating the Lifetime Powertrain Warranty as part of the value of the purchase. Coverage is not limited to new vehicles. Qualifying pre-owned vehicles can receive it as well, so the Lifetime Powertrain Warranty by itself is not what separates a new vehicle from a used one at Jupiter. Know What's in the Number Before You Sign The advertised price does not always tell you everything about the specific vehicle you are looking at. Some vehicles at Jupiter may already have dealer-installed accessories such as window tint, a spray-in bed liner or other equipment added on site. Those items can affect the price of that particular vehicle, and what is installed can vary from one unit to the next. The important part is knowing what you are paying for. Before the transaction is finalized, you should be able to see what equipment is on the vehicle, what has been added by the dealership and what those items cost. If you are comparing the same model or trim at more than one dealership, compare the out-the-door numbers, not just the advertised prices. Ask what equipment is already installed on each specific vehicle and what else is included in the final amount. Two trucks with the same trim can end up at different totals because they are not necessarily equipped the same way. When we talk about pricing at Jupiter, the goal is transparency. Some vehicles are priced above the manufacturer's MSRP because they include dealer-installed products. Depending on the vehicle, those may include: Rhino spray-in bedliner. Protects the truck bed from scratches, dents, corrosion and everyday wear. XPEL window tint. Helps reduce heat and UV exposure inside the vehicle and adds privacy. Wheel locks. An added layer of theft protection for the wheels and tires. Vehicle etch. Puts a permanent identification number on designated glass surfaces as a theft deterrent and can help with recovery. LoJack security system. Theft-recovery technology designed to help locate and recover the vehicle if it is stolen. When these products are installed, a vehicle's total selling price may be above MSRP. That difference reflects actual products and equipment added to the vehicle, and you should see each one and what it costs before you sign. Certain products can be removed at your request where applicable, so ask if there is something on a vehicle you do not want. Want It Customized? Start Before You Drive It Home Buying a new truck does not necessarily mean taking it exactly as it came from the factory. Jupiter Custom Shop is on the same Garland campus, so customers interested in changing the stance, wheels, tint, bed protection or other accessories can start that conversation while they are choosing the vehicle rather than figuring it all out later. Some vehicles are already customized before they are listed for sale. For others, the Custom Shop can help customers choose upgrades based on what they want the finished vehicle to look like and how they plan to use it. That becomes especially useful when suspension, wheels, tires and steps all need to work together as part of the same build. You can select upgrades through the Custom Shop as part of your purchase. The work can be completed before delivery, during the delivery process or after you take the vehicle home, depending on what you prefer and the type of upgrade. The Custom Shop handles a wide range of upgrades, including blackout packages, wheels and tires, lift and leveling kits, XPEL window tint, Rhino spray-in bedliners, running boards, bed covers, lighting, appearance packages and other Chevrolet accessories. Because every build is different, timing depends on the upgrades you choose, parts availability and installation requirements. The team reviews your selections and gives you an expected completion timeline before the work begins. The vehicle's Lifetime Powertrain Warranty coverage and the warranties that come with individual aftermarket parts are separate. Qualifying vehicles remain subject to the Jupiter Advantage eligibility and maintenance requirements, while individual Custom Shop products may carry their own manufacturer warranty terms. Thinking about modifying the vehicle somewhere else? Certain aftermarket modifications can affect Lifetime Powertrain Warranty eligibility or coverage. That mainly applies to work on the electrical system, suspension or engine and performance components done by an outside dealership or an independent repair or modification shop. If you are considering a modification, talk with Jupiter before the work is done so the team can help you understand whether it could affect your coverage. Upgrades professionally installed through the Jupiter Custom Shop are handled with the applicable warranty requirements in mind, and the full warranty terms spell out what is covered. What Happens After You Drive Off The purchase is one day. What happens after it is the part you live with for years. Routine service at Jupiter includes a 151-point inspection developed from Chevrolet's 172-point checklist, with items the service team considered outdated or no longer useful removed. Tire rotation is included with every oil change, and alignment checks, tire tread-depth checks and open recall checks are complimentary for vehicles coming through the service department. When the vehicle needs to stay, Jupiter has a fleet of more than 50 loaner vehicles for qualifying visits, along with concierge pickup and delivery across DFW, shuttle service and an overnight drop-off option. And if the vehicle is ever in an accident, Jupiter Collision Center is on the same Garland campus with its own repair team and estimators. That is the larger advantage of having sales, service, parts, custom work and collision repair connected in one place. The people who help you buy the vehicle are part of the same organization responsible for helping you maintain, customize and repair it afterward. What to Bring and What to Expect on the Day You Buy If you are getting ready to purchase, ask the team what documents you will need to complete the transaction. If you are trading a vehicle, having the registration, both keys and any title or payoff information available can help keep the process moving. Then give yourself enough time to go through the numbers before you sign. The contract walkthrough is where you should see what is on the vehicle, what has been added, what each item costs and what your final number looks like. It is also the time to make sure you understand the Lifetime Powertrain Warranty requirements and when your first required maintenance visit will be due. You should leave knowing what you bought, what you paid for and what you need to do next. If you want to get some of the process started before you arrive, Jupiter's credit application and trade valuation tools are available online. New or Used? The Warranty Isn't the Tiebreaker One thing that does not necessarily separate new from used at Jupiter is the Lifetime Powertrain Warranty. Qualifying pre-owned vehicles can receive the coverage too. The differences are elsewhere. A new Chevrolet gives you the full factory warranty from the beginning, the ability to shop for a specific model, trim and configuration, and potentially the opportunity to plan Custom Shop upgrades as part of the purchase process. A pre-owned vehicle gives you a different set of choices based on what is currently available, how it is equipped, its mileage and its price. So if you are deciding between a new and pre-owned Silverado, Tahoe, Traverse or another Chevrolet, do not make the decision based on the words "Lifetime Powertrain Warranty" alone. Look at the specific vehicles, the coverage each one carries, how they are equipped and what the numbers look like for each. Frequently Asked Questions Does Jupiter Chevrolet include a Lifetime Powertrain Warranty on new vehicles? Yes. Every new Chevrolet purchased from Jupiter Chevrolet is eligible for the Lifetime Powertrain Warranty at no additional cost through the Jupiter Advantage, with the exception of Corvette models. Coverage includes major powertrain components such as the engine, transmission, transfer case where equipped and drive axles, subject to the terms, conditions, maintenance requirements and exclusions in the written warranty. What do I have to do to keep the Lifetime Powertrain Warranty active? Required maintenance has to be completed within every 5,000 miles and performed at Jupiter Chevrolet in Garland. Maintenance completed at another GM dealership or an independent repair shop does not satisfy that requirement. Is a new Chevy at Jupiter ever priced above MSRP? Some can be. When a vehicle includes dealer-installed products, such as a Rhino spray-in bedliner, XPEL window tint, wheel locks, vehicle etch or a LoJack security system, its total selling price may be above MSRP. That difference reflects the products added to the vehicle, and you should see what is installed and what each item costs before you sign. Certain products can be removed at your request where applicable. Can I customize a new truck before I take delivery? Yes. You can choose upgrades through the Jupiter Custom Shop as part of your purchase and have the work done before delivery, during the delivery process or after you take the vehicle home. Common choices include blackout packages, wheels and tires, lift and leveling kits, window tint, spray-in bedliners, running boards, bed covers and lighting. The team gives you an expected completion timeline before work begins. Can modifications affect my Lifetime Powertrain Warranty? They can. Work on the electrical system, suspension or engine and performance components done by an outside dealership or independent shop may affect eligibility or coverage. Talk with Jupiter before having that kind of work done, and check the full warranty terms for coverage details. What else comes with the Jupiter Advantage besides the Lifetime Powertrain Warranty? The Jupiter Advantage includes additional ownership benefits for qualifying vehicles, including collision deductible reimbursement and wheel-repair protection, subject to the program's eligibility requirements, limits and terms. Can I buy a new Chevrolet online or start the process before I come in? You can browse Jupiter Chevrolet's current new inventory online, start the credit application and get started on a trade valuation before visiting the Garland showroom. If you are looking for a particular model, trim or configuration that is not currently available, the team can also check incoming inventory. Ready to See What's Available? Thinking About a Chevy EV in DFW? What Ownership Actually Looks Like

TL;DR Chevrolet's EV lineup includes the Equinox EV, Blazer EV, Silverado EV and the returning Bolt. The federal EV tax credit ended September 30, 2025, and Texas charges a $200 annual EV registration fee. For a DFW driver, the bigger questions are how an EV fits your daily mileage, whether you can charge at home, how North Texas heat affects range and where you will have it serviced. Jupiter Chevrolet sells and services Chevy EVs in Garland. Buying an EV involves a few questions that do not come up with a gas vehicle. Where will you charge it? What happens to range during a North Texas summer? What does Texas charge you to own one? And who works on it when it needs service? Those are the questions that matter after the test drive is over. This guide walks through what Chevy EV ownership actually looks like in DFW, from the current lineup and home charging to Texas fees, summer range and service, so you can decide whether an EV makes sense for the way you drive. Which Chevy EVs Can You Buy in DFW Right Now? Chevrolet's electric lineup gives DFW shoppers several different starting points, from a compact EV to a full-size electric truck. The biggest differences come down to vehicle size, range, performance and what you need the vehicle to do every day. Here is how the current lineup compares based on Chevrolet's published specifications: Chevrolet EV lineup at a glance: body style and EPA-estimated range Model Body style EPA-est. range (up to) What distinguishes it 2027 Chevrolet Bolt Compact hatchback 262 miles Smallest Chevy EV, with a native NACS charging port 2026 Chevrolet Equinox EV Compact SUV 319 miles (FWD) Two-row SUV with more than 300 miles of available range 2026 Chevrolet Blazer EV Midsize SUV 312 miles (LT/RS FWD) Larger SUV lineup that includes the SS performance model 2026 Chevrolet Silverado EV Full-size pickup 478 miles (Max Range) Longest-range Chevy EV listed here, with up to 12,500 pounds of available towing Range figures are Chevrolet/GM-published EPA estimates for the configurations noted. Actual range varies by configuration, temperature, speed, climate-control use and other driving conditions. The Bolt is Chevrolet's smallest EV and returns for the 2027 model year with a native NACS charging port. The Equinox EV and Blazer EV give buyers two different SUV options, while the Silverado EV brings electric power to a full-size pickup with available towing capability. At Jupiter, the Equinox EV and Blazer EV drive most of the conversation with first-time EV buyers. The Equinox EV tends to appeal to people who want an affordable, practical everyday vehicle. The Blazer EV draws buyers who want something larger and sportier, with a more premium feel. The Bolt is a natural fit for buyers focused on affordability, efficiency and everyday commuting. The Silverado EV is a different buyer altogether: someone who wants the capability and utility of a truck and is interested in moving to an EV. The biggest misconception we hear is that all EVs are basically the same. They are not. Range, performance, size, charging capability, equipment and intended use can vary a lot from one model to the next. So we start with how you actually use your vehicle: your daily commute, how much you drive, whether you can charge at home and what it would cost to run a charge or set up your garage for one, your passenger and cargo needs, and whether you tow or travel often. From there, we can help you figure out whether an Equinox EV, Blazer EV, Bolt or Silverado EV fits, or whether a gas vehicle simply makes more sense. We don't believe an EV is the right answer for every customer, and we don't believe that about gas vehicles either. Our job is to help you understand the differences and your financing options, then choose the vehicle that fits the way you live. What a Chevy EV Actually Costs Beyond the Sticker in Texas The purchase price is only part of the cost of owning an EV in Texas. For DFW buyers in 2026, there are three things worth factoring in before comparing an EV with a gas vehicle: the federal tax credit is gone, Texas adds an EV registration fee and charging at home may require some upfront electrical work. The federal EV tax credit ended. The IRS states that the new, used and commercial clean vehicle credits are not available for vehicles acquired after September 30, 2025. So if you come across an older article talking about a federal credit of up to $7,500 on a new EV, that information is outdated. Any current discounts or incentives on a Chevy EV would come from vehicle pricing or manufacturer and dealer programs available at the time you buy. Texas charges an additional EV registration fee. Since September 1, 2023, Texas has charged a $200 annual fee to register an electric vehicle, on top of standard registration fees. For a new EV receiving a two-year registration, the fee is $400 up front. According to the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles, the additional fee helps account for the gasoline taxes EV drivers do not pay and does not apply to hybrid vehicles. Home charging can come with an upfront cost. For drivers who want Level 2 charging at home, the setup uses a 208- to 240-volt power source and may require electrical work. How involved that installation is depends on your home's existing electrical system, available capacity and where the charger will be installed. There are also routine maintenance differences to factor into the ownership cost. A battery-electric vehicle does not need engine oil changes or spark-plug replacement, and regenerative braking can reduce use of the friction brakes. Your actual operating costs will still depend on how much you drive, electricity rates and how much of your charging happens at home versus public charging stations. Because EV pricing, incentives and payment programs can change much faster than the information in this guide, check Jupiter Chevrolet's current EV inventory and available offers when you are ready to compare actual numbers. How Charging a Chevy EV Works in North Texas For most buyers, the biggest adjustment to an EV is not how it drives. It is thinking differently about where and when you add range. Chevy EVs can charge at home, at work or at public charging stations. The right setup depends on how much you drive, whether you can charge where you live and how often you take longer trips. There are three main ways to charge: Level 1 (120 volts): Uses a standard household outlet and adds about 2 to 5 miles of range per hour. It can work for drivers who cover relatively few miles each day, but it is the slowest option. Level 2 (208 to 240 volts): Common for home and workplace charging. The U.S. Department of Transportation says typical Level 2 equipment adds about 10 to 20 miles of range per hour, although charging speed varies by the vehicle and equipment. DC fast charging: Designed primarily for faster charging away from home. Depending on the vehicle and charging station, the U.S. Department of Transportation says DC fast charging can bring a battery to about 80% in roughly 20 minutes to an hour. Public charging options for Chevy EV drivers have also expanded. Chevrolet says its customers can access more than 250,000 public chargers across the U.S. and Canada, including compatible Tesla Superchargers. The 2027 Bolt comes standard with a native NACS charging port. The 2026 Equinox EV, Blazer EV and Silverado EV can also use compatible Tesla Superchargers, but those models require a GM-approved NACS DC adapter. For a DFW driver, the practical question is not simply whether public chargers exist. It is where you expect to do most of your charging. If you can charge at home or at work, routine driving around Garland and the Metroplex may require very little public charging. Longer trips make charging speed and station availability along your route more important. If you cannot charge where you live, such as at an apartment without charging access or with street parking, EV ownership can still be possible, but you will depend more heavily on workplace and public charging. That changes both the convenience and the cost equation. How Texas Heat Affects a Chevy EV North Texas heat can reduce EV range, but the effect is easier to understand when you put an actual number behind it. In testing published in May 2026, AAA compared EV performance at different temperatures. At 95 degrees with the air conditioning set to 72 degrees, the EVs tested averaged 8.5% less driving range than they did at 75 degrees. AAA also measured a 10.4% decrease in energy efficiency under those conditions. That does not mean every Chevy EV will lose exactly 8.5% of its range on a hot DFW day. The AAA figure is an average from the vehicles and conditions in its test. Actual range will depend on the vehicle, outside temperature, highway speed, air-conditioning use, driving habits and other conditions. But it gives North Texas drivers a useful frame of reference. An 8.5% reduction on 300 miles of range would be about 25 miles, for example. The point is not that a 300-mile EV automatically becomes a 275-mile EV every August. It is that the range you see in real-world summer driving may be lower than the EPA estimate. Cold temperatures had a larger effect in the same AAA testing. At 20 degrees, the EVs tested averaged a 39% decrease in driving range. That condition is less common in DFW than sustained summer heat, but it is worth remembering during a North Texas freeze or winter road trip. Chevy EVs use active thermal management to heat or cool the battery as needed. Chevrolet also backs the EV battery and electric propulsion components with an 8-year/100,000-mile limited warranty. For day-to-day summer driving, a few habits can help you manage available range: Precondition the cabin while the vehicle is plugged in. On equipped vehicles, the myChevrolet app can be used to start climate control before you leave. Use covered parking when it is available. Starting with a cooler cabin can reduce how much cooling is needed when you get in. Give yourself some margin on longer trips. Highway speed, climate-control use and temperature can all affect how far an EV travels between charges. Follow Chevrolet's charging recommendations for your specific EV. Recommended charging settings can vary, so use the guidance in your owner's manual rather than assuming every EV should be charged the same way. Texas heat does not change the basic range equation. It just means the EPA number should be treated as an estimate, not a promise about exactly how far the vehicle will travel on a 100-degree August afternoon. Who Services a Chevy EV After You Buy It A Chevy EV does not need oil changes or some of the other routine maintenance that comes with a gas engine, but it still needs tires, brakes, cabin air filters, battery-cooling-system maintenance, software updates and regular inspections. Tire condition and alignment deserve extra attention on an EV. The weight, torque and performance characteristics of an electric vehicle make both especially important. There is also an important difference between routine maintenance and work involving the high-voltage system. Chevrolet says EV-trained dealership technicians have the training and equipment to inspect, test and service the high-voltage battery system. Chevrolet's EV battery and electric propulsion limited warranty covers eligible repairs for 8 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. At Jupiter Chevrolet, Chevy EVs are serviced on site in Garland at a GM EV-certified service facility. EVs require specialized training, diagnostic equipment, tools and safety procedures that are different from traditional vehicles, and Jupiter's technicians are trained to handle them. For a closer look at the team and what EV service at Jupiter includes, see who can service a Chevy EV in DFW. The questions our service team hears most often are about battery health, driving range, charging, tires and how often the vehicle should be serviced, along with what happens if there is ever an issue with the high-voltage battery or EV system. Our answer for first-time owners is simple: the maintenance is different, but it doesn't have to be complicated. We'll help you understand what your Chevy EV needs and when it needs it, and make sure it's serviced properly. Every vehicle that comes through Jupiter Chevrolet's service department also receives a complimentary multi-point inspection. Jason Ashcroft, Jupiter Chevrolet's Fixed Operations Director, describes it simply: "basically, it's the vehicle's report card." It includes checks of items such as tires, brakes and fluids, along with complimentary checks for alignment and open recalls. That tire inspection can be particularly useful on an EV because vehicle weight, tire design, driving style and other factors can affect tire wear. Every vehicle that comes in for service, EVs included, also passes over Jupiter Chevrolet's drive-over scanner as it enters the service lane. The scanner measures the tread depth on each tire and captures 360-degree imagery of the vehicle, and the results for tires, alignment and open recalls appear on a large monitor in the service lane as you pull in. Readings follow the same green, yellow and red system as the inspection report, so uneven wear or low tread shows up before it becomes a problem. If an EV is damaged in a collision, Jupiter Collision Center can handle EV collision repairs in house, including battery removal and structural repair when required, following manufacturer-published safety and repair procedures. The Collision Center also follows manufacturer-specified high-voltage safety protocols any time a damaged EV requires battery isolation, removal or work near high-voltage components. Is a Chevy EV the Right Fit for You? The specs only tell you so much. Whether an EV makes sense in DFW depends more on how and where you actually drive. Before you choose between an EV and a gas vehicle, start with six questions: Can you charge at home or at work? Having reliable access to home or workplace charging means you can handle more of your routine charging where the vehicle already spends time. Without it, you will depend more heavily on public charging, so availability, charging speed and cost become a bigger part of the decision. If you can, also check whether your electric provider offers discounted overnight EV charging rates. How many miles do you drive on a normal day? Compare your typical daily mileage with the published range of the EV you are considering. Leave room for factors such as highway speeds, temperature, climate-control use and other conditions that can affect real-world range. How often do you take longer trips? If Austin, Houston, Oklahoma or other longer drives are part of your routine, look at charging options along the routes you actually travel. The question is not simply whether an EV can make the trip, but how charging fits into the way you prefer to travel. Do you tow? The Silverado EV offers up to 12,500 pounds of available towing capacity in the properly equipped configuration discussed earlier. But towing can reduce EV range, so consider both the weight you need to pull and how far you typically tow it. How long do you keep your vehicles? Chevrolet's EV battery and electric propulsion limited warranty runs for 8 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. Consider that coverage alongside the Texas EV registration fee, any home-charging setup costs and your expected ownership period. Is this your only vehicle? An EV can be an easier decision when there is a gas vehicle in the household for long road trips or towing. If the EV will be your only vehicle, your charging access and travel habits carry more weight. There does not have to be one answer for every DFW driver. Someone with home charging and mostly local driving has a different ownership equation than someone who regularly tows long distances or depends entirely on public charging. When a customer is on the fence, we start with how they really drive. Here are some of the questions our sales team asks: What does your normal commute look like? What are the longest trips you make regularly? Do you often drive to places like Austin, Houston, San Antonio or out of state? Do you regularly carry passengers, equipment or a lot of cargo? What matters most to you: range, performance, efficiency, capability or purchase price? Would you be comfortable plugging your vehicle in at home instead of stopping for gas? Have you driven an EV before? What concerns do you have about owning an EV? Are you looking to buy, finance or lease? If the answers point to a gas vehicle, we will tell you that. We can also compare the estimated operating costs of an EV and a comparable gas model based on the miles you actually drive, show you what charging at home would look like and set up back-to-back test drives so you can decide which one fits you better. Frequently Asked Questions Is there still a federal tax credit for buying a new Chevy EV? No. According to the IRS, the federal new, used and commercial clean vehicle credits are not available for vehicles acquired after September 30, 2025. Any current savings on a new Chevy EV would come from vehicle pricing or manufacturer and dealer programs available at the time you buy. How much is the Texas EV registration fee? Texas charges an additional $200 annual registration fee for electric vehicles, on top of standard registration fees. New EVs receiving a two-year registration pay $400 up front. The fee took effect September 1, 2023, and does not apply to hybrids. Can a Chevy EV use Tesla Superchargers? Yes, at compatible Tesla Superchargers. The 2027 Chevrolet Bolt comes standard with a native NACS charging port. The 2026 Equinox EV, Blazer EV and Silverado EV can also access compatible Tesla Superchargers using a GM-approved NACS DC adapter. How long is the battery warranty on a Chevy EV? Chevrolet's EV battery and electric propulsion limited warranty covers eligible components for 8 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. Warranty terms and coverage can vary, so check the warranty information for the specific Chevrolet EV you are considering. How much range does a Chevy EV lose in Texas heat? There is not one percentage that applies to every EV or every hot day. In AAA testing published in May 2026, the EVs tested averaged 8.5% less driving range at 95 degrees with the air conditioning set to 72 degrees compared with testing at 75 degrees. Actual range varies with the vehicle, temperature, speed, climate-control use and other driving conditions. Which Chevy EV has the longest range? Among the models covered in this guide, the Silverado EV has the highest GM-published EPA-estimated range, with up to 478 miles on the Max Range configuration. Among the SUVs discussed here, the front-wheel-drive Equinox EV offers up to 319 miles of GM-estimated range. Actual range varies by configuration and driving conditions. Does Jupiter Chevrolet service electric vehicles? Yes. Jupiter Chevrolet is a GM EV-certified service facility and services Chevy EVs at the dealership in Garland. Does a Chevy EV still need maintenance if it doesn't need oil changes? Yes. EVs generally have fewer routine maintenance items, with no oil changes or spark plugs, but tires, brakes, suspension, alignment, cabin air filters and cooling systems still need inspection and service. Tire condition and alignment are especially important because of an EV's weight and torque. Can any repair shop work on a Chevy EV? Routine items like tires and cabin air filters are familiar work for most shops. Anything involving the high-voltage battery or EV system takes specialized training, diagnostic equipment, tools and safety procedures, which is why Chevrolet points EV owners to EV-trained dealership technicians. Jupiter Chevrolet is a GM EV-certified service facility. Why are tire rotations and alignments so important on an EV? An EV is heavier than a comparable gas vehicle and delivers its torque instantly, and both put more demand on the tires. Keeping up with rotations and alignment checks helps the tires wear evenly. Every vehicle that comes into Jupiter's service lane, EVs included, passes over the drive-over scanner that measures tread depth on each tire and flags alignment concerns. Do EV brakes last longer because of regenerative braking? Regenerative braking uses the electric motor to slow the vehicle, which can reduce how much the friction brakes are used. The brakes still need regular inspection, and they are part of the complimentary multi-point inspection on every vehicle that comes through Jupiter's service department. What's the difference between Level 1, Level 2 and DC fast charging? Level 1 uses a standard 120-volt household outlet and adds about 2 to 5 miles of range per hour. Level 2 runs on 208 to 240 volts, is common at home and work, and typically adds about 10 to 20 miles of range per hour. DC fast charging is built for charging away from home and can bring a battery to about 80% in roughly 20 minutes to an hour, depending on the vehicle and station. Why does my EV's range change between summer and winter? Temperature affects how much energy goes to heating or cooling the cabin and the battery. In AAA testing published in May 2026, EVs averaged 8.5% less range at 95 degrees with the A/C on and 39% less at 20 degrees, compared with 75 degrees. Your actual range depends on the vehicle, speed and how you drive. Can Jupiter Chevrolet fix high-voltage battery problems? Jupiter Chevrolet is a GM EV-certified service facility, and Chevrolet says EV-trained dealership technicians have the training and equipment to inspect, test and service the high-voltage battery system. Eligible battery and electric propulsion repairs are covered by Chevrolet's 8-year/100,000-mile limited warranty. What should I do if my EV is in a collision? Have it repaired by a shop trained on EV high-voltage safety procedures. Jupiter Collision Center handles EV collision repairs in house, including battery removal and structural repair when required, following manufacturer-published safety and repair procedures. Night drop-off box at the entrance to Jupiter Chevrolet in Garland, TX, with the Certified Service building behind it

24-Hour Service Drop-Off at Jupiter Chevrolet in Garland: How It Works

TL;DR Jupiter Chevrolet in Garland has a 24-hour drop box, available every day including Sundays and holidays. Park on the right-hand side of the entryway in the designated overnight area, fill out an After Hours Key Drop Envelope, seal your keys inside and drop it in the box. The service team starts bringing overnight vehicles in around 5:00 AM, and a service advisor calls after 8:00 AM to go over the plan. An appointment is not required but is strongly recommended. If you need a loaner, drop off during service hours instead, because the loaner paperwork has to be done in person. Service departments keep daytime hours. Most people work them. That is the whole problem with getting a vehicle serviced. Sometimes the inconvenient part is not the maintenance itself. It is getting the vehicle to the dealership while the service department is open. Jupiter Chevrolet's 24-hour drop-off gives you another option. Schedule your service, leave your vehicle and keys at the dealership the night before, and the service team will bring it in when they arrive the next morning. If you have never used an overnight drop box before, though, there are some reasonable questions: Where do you leave the vehicle? What happens to the keys? When does the vehicle get checked in? And when will you hear from an advisor? Here is how it works. What 24-Hour Drop-Off Means at Jupiter Chevrolet Jupiter Chevrolet's drop box is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including Sundays and holidays. There is a designated overnight area where you can leave your vehicle, with a drop box directly out front for your keys. The important distinction is that 24-hour drop-off changes when you can leave your vehicle, not when the service work is performed. Team members arriving in the morning begin bringing overnight vehicles in around 5:00 AM. From there, each vehicle is checked in and moved into the service process for the day. For customers who cannot make a daytime drop-off work, that means the vehicle can already be at Jupiter when the service day begins. During regular service hours, the better move is to pull through the Service Drive and check in with a service advisor in person. That way the advisor can go over your concerns with you and start the check-in on the spot. The drop box is there for the times you cannot do that. Should You Schedule an Appointment Before a 24-Hour Drop-Off? Scheduling an appointment and using 24-hour drop-off can work together. You can have your service planned ahead of time and still leave your vehicle at Jupiter the night before rather than making the trip the following morning. An appointment is not required to use the drop box, but Jupiter strongly recommends one. When the service team knows what is coming, they can plan technician time, line up parts and give you a better idea of turnaround before your vehicle ever arrives. Jason Ashcroft, Jupiter Chevrolet's Fixed Operations Director, says the team helps customers whether they arrive with an appointment, drive in with a question or need service performed. No appointment? You are still welcome to use the overnight drop-off. Your vehicle goes through the same full morning check-in and inspection as everyone else's. How to Use 24-Hour Drop-Off, Step by Step Here is how Jupiter Chevrolet's 24-hour drop-off works from the moment you pull in. Schedule your service if you can. It is not required, but it helps the team plan for your vehicle before it arrives. Schedule online or call 972-464-1093. Park in the designated overnight area. After you enter the dealership, park along the right-hand side of the entryway and look for the Night Drop-Off signage near the entrance. Make sure you are not blocking the main entry gate or traffic, leave room for other vehicles to get in and out, and lock your vehicle. Grab an After Hours Key Drop Envelope. You will find them at the drop box. Fill in your name, phone number, email, vehicle year, make, model, mileage and license plate, and check whether your vehicle has a wheel lock. Nothing needs to be done online first. Tell the team what you need. Check the services you want from the list on the envelope, or write in what is going on. Be specific about symptoms rather than diagnoses. "Pulls right under braking" is more useful than "needs brakes." Mention anything the technician should know, like a warning light that comes and goes or a noise that only happens cold, and note when you would like to pick the vehicle up. If you already have an appointment, add any extra concerns here. Choose how you want to approve repairs, then sign. The envelope asks for your repair authorization preference, including the option to get a call with an estimate before any repair. Sign at the bottom. Work will not be performed on an unsigned envelope. Seal your keys inside and drop it in the box. Put your key and remote in the envelope, seal it and drop it in the overnight drop box. Watch for a call from your service advisor. It usually comes after 8:00 AM the next morning. What Happens the Next Morning When the service team arrives in the morning, overnight vehicles are brought in from the drop-off area and begin moving through the service process for the day. Before anything moves, the team matches each set of keys to the right vehicle. They check the information on your envelope against the vehicle and confirm the key or fob actually operates it, so the right keys, vehicle and service request stay together. From there, your vehicle gets the same check-in as a daytime visit. It is driven through Jupiter's alignment and tire tread reader, gets an OBD diagnostic code scan and goes through the complimentary multi-point vehicle inspection, where the technician checks items like the tires, brakes and fluid levels. The team also checks for open recalls. The goal is the same thorough inspection and level of service for every customer, no matter when the vehicle was dropped off. When Will You Hear From a Service Advisor? Once your vehicle has been brought in and checked in for the day, the next step is hearing from the service team. Service advisors call overnight drop-off customers first thing in the morning, typically after 8:00 AM. The team tries not to call too early. Contact is by phone unless you have asked to hear from them by text. On that first call, your advisor confirms your concerns and any extra requests, walks you through the plan for your vehicle and sets clear expectations for turnaround time. If parts availability or anything else might cause a delay, you will hear about it as early as possible. What If the Technician Finds Something Else? Dropping your vehicle off after hours means you are not standing at the service counter when the team begins looking at it the next morning. So what happens if the technician finds something beyond the service or concern you originally brought it in for? Jupiter's multi-point inspection uses a green, yellow and red system to help customers understand what the technician finds. Green means the item is in good condition. Yellow means it does not necessarily need attention right now, but Jupiter documents it and can inspect it again at a future visit. Red means the item needs more immediate attention, whether for safety or the vehicle's long-term health. Finding something during the inspection does not necessarily mean it has to be repaired that day. Jason Ashcroft says the service team starts with safety concerns, then discusses recommendations related to future maintenance and the vehicle's long-term health. If the technician does find something, expect a phone call first unless you asked for text. Jupiter prefers a live conversation so your advisor can explain what was found, go over the recommended repair and the price, and answer your questions on the spot. When it helps, you will also get photos or live video of the findings by text or email. No additional customer-pay work is done without your authorization. Once you have reviewed the findings and pricing, you approve the work through your service advisor. Need a Loaner? Drop Off During Service Hours Instead If you will need another vehicle while yours is at Jupiter, the 24-hour drop box is not the way to go. Jupiter maintains a fleet of loaner vehicles and also offers shuttle service and concierge pickup and delivery. For loaners, Jupiter customers are prioritized first, and customers with scheduled appointments are prioritized ahead of walk-ins. Loaners cannot be picked up after hours. Before you drive off in a Jupiter loaner, you sign an agreement, show your driver's license and proof of insurance and do a walk-around of the loaner with the team. All of that happens in person, so Jupiter does not leave loaner vehicles out for after-hours pickup. If you need a loaner, plan to drop off your vehicle and pick up the loaner during Service Department hours. Request and confirm the loaner when you schedule your appointment, because availability can be limited. Before You Leave Your Vehicle For an after-hours drop-off, the most important thing is making sure the service team has what it needs to identify your vehicle, understand why it is there and access anything necessary to complete the requested service. Leave the wheel-lock key in the vehicle if you are coming in for brake service, an oil change and tire rotation, tire service or suspension work. Take your valuables with you. Remove personal items and anything you will need before your vehicle is ready. Leave enough fuel for a road test if the repair or diagnosis needs one. If the team has to add fuel to properly test the vehicle, that cost may be added to your repair order, or submitted to GM when the repair is covered under warranty. Frequently Asked Questions Does Jupiter Chevrolet in Garland have 24-hour service drop-off? Yes. Jupiter Chevrolet's drop box is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including Sundays and holidays. Park in the designated overnight area on the right-hand side of the entryway, fill out an After Hours Key Drop Envelope and drop your keys in the box. The service team starts bringing overnight vehicles in around 5:00 AM. Do I need an appointment to use the 24-hour drop box? No. You can use the drop box without an appointment, and your vehicle gets the same morning check-in and inspection. Jupiter still strongly recommends scheduling ahead so the team can plan for diagnosis, parts and turnaround time. Where do I leave my vehicle and keys after hours? After you enter the dealership, park along the right-hand side of the entryway in the designated overnight area. Look for the Night Drop-Off signage near the entrance. Your keys go in a sealed After Hours Key Drop Envelope in the drop box directly out front. Do I have to fill anything out online first? No. Everything goes on the After Hours Key Drop Envelope at the drop box: your contact and vehicle information, the service you need, when you would like to pick up and how you want to approve repairs. If you already have an appointment, add any extra concerns there too. What happens to my vehicle the next morning? Team members start bringing overnight vehicles in around 5:00 AM. Each vehicle is matched to its keys, then driven through the alignment and tire tread reader, scanned for diagnostic codes, put through the multi-point inspection and checked for recalls. It is the same process as a daytime drop-off. What happens if Jupiter finds something else during the inspection? Jupiter's multi-point inspection uses a green, yellow and red system. Green means the item is in good condition. Yellow means it does not necessarily need attention right now, but Jupiter documents it so it can be checked again at a future visit. Red identifies something that needs more immediate attention because of safety or the vehicle's long-term health. Finding something during the inspection does not necessarily mean it has to be repaired that day. Jason says the team begins with safety concerns, then discusses recommendations related to future maintenance and the vehicle's long-term health. When an item can wait, documenting it allows the customer to plan ahead for the parts, labor and appointment needed later. When will I hear from a service advisor after an overnight drop-off? Usually first thing in the morning, after 8:00 AM. Your service advisor calls unless you asked for text, confirms what you need and sets expectations for turnaround time. Can I get a loaner if I drop my car off after hours? Not with an after-hours drop-off. The loaner agreement, your driver's license and proof of insurance all have to be handled in person, so Jupiter does not leave loaners out for after-hours pickup. If you need a loaner, drop off your vehicle during service hours and request the loaner when you schedule, since availability can be limited. Is my car safe if I leave it there overnight? Jupiter Chevrolet has 24-hour camera surveillance and lighting throughout the property, and its surveillance is in direct communication with the Garland Police Department. Lock your vehicle and take your valuables with you before you leave it. Can I pick up my car after the service department closes? Yes, as long as the work has been paid for and your vehicle has been authorized for release. After the service department closes, you can pick it up through the Sales Department, which is open until 9:00 PM. Jupiter does recommend picking up during service hours when you can, so your advisor can walk you through the inspection results, the work done and anything recommended for later. Drop It Off Tonight If getting to the dealership during service hours is what keeps pushing your maintenance or repair to another day, Jupiter Chevrolet's after-hours drop-off gives you another option. Schedule your service online if you can, fill out your envelope and leave your vehicle at Jupiter the night before. If you need a loaner, come in during service hours instead. Service hours are 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM Monday through Friday and 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM Saturday. The service department is closed Sunday, but the drop box is not. What's the Right Oil for Your Chevy? Synthetic vs. Conventional, Explained

TL;DR The right oil for your Chevrolet depends on the engine, model year, required oil specification, and viscosity grade. Many newer Chevrolet engines require full synthetic oil that meets a specific GM dexos specification, while some vehicles may have different requirements. Check your owner's manual for the exact specification and viscosity your engine requires, or bring it to Jupiter Chevrolet in Garland and we will look it up for you. Ask five people whether your Chevy needs synthetic oil and you may get five different answers. The problem is that there is not one answer that applies to every Chevrolet. The right oil depends on the engine under the hood, the model year, the oil specification GM requires, and the correct viscosity grade. One Chevy may require a full synthetic dexos-approved oil while another may have different requirements. So the better question is not simply, “Is synthetic oil better than conventional?” It is, “What oil was my engine designed to use?” Here is how to find that answer, what specifications like dexos actually mean, and why using the correct oil and filter matters for your engine. What's Actually Different Between Synthetic and Conventional Oil Conventional and synthetic motor oils are formulated differently, and those differences affect how they perform as temperatures, engine loads, and operating conditions change. Conventional oil uses conventional base oils combined with additives that help control wear, deposits, oxidation, and other conditions inside the engine. Full synthetic oil uses more highly engineered base oils and additive packages designed to maintain performance across a wider range of operating conditions. Synthetic oils generally provide better resistance to oxidation and high-temperature breakdown while also maintaining flow at low temperatures. But that does not mean every Chevy should automatically get synthetic oil simply because synthetic is considered the higher-performing option. What matters is the oil specification your particular engine was designed around. If GM requires a certain dexos specification, viscosity grade, or full synthetic oil for your engine, that requirement should determine what goes into it. So when you are choosing oil for a Chevrolet, the question is less about which type of oil is “better” overall and more about which oil meets the requirements GM established for your specific engine. Why GM's dexos Oil Specification Matters When you look at the oil requirement for a newer Chevrolet, you may see more than a viscosity such as 0W-20 or 5W-30. You may also see a GM dexos specification. The dexos specification is General Motors' standard for engine oil. Oils that carry the applicable dexos approval have to meet GM's performance requirements for areas such as wear protection, deposit control, oxidation, and performance under the operating conditions the oil may encounter inside the engine. That distinction matters because viscosity and oil specification are not the same thing. Two bottles can both say 0W-20 on the front and still not necessarily meet the same manufacturer requirements. For many newer Chevrolet gasoline engines, the owner's manual calls for full synthetic oil that meets the applicable GM dexos specification. Modern turbocharged engines are one reason oil performance has become increasingly important. Conditions inside these engines can place significant demands on the oil, and modern oil specifications include tests designed to address issues such as deposits and low-speed pre-ignition, or LSPI. But there is not one dexos requirement that applies to every Chevrolet engine and model year. The specification and viscosity listed for your particular engine are what matter. So if your owner's manual calls for a specific dexos-approved oil, look for oil that meets that requirement rather than choosing a bottle based only on the viscosity printed on the front. Does Your Chevy Need Synthetic or Can It Run Conventional? The answer depends on your specific engine and model year. Some Chevrolet engines require full synthetic oil that meets a particular GM dexos specification, while other applications may have different requirements. The most reliable place to find the answer is your Chevrolet owner's manual. It will tell you the oil specification and viscosity grade required for your engine. You may also find the recommended viscosity on the oil fill cap under the hood. Those are two separate things worth checking. Oil specification tells you the performance standard the oil needs to meet, such as an applicable GM dexos specification. Viscosity is the SAE grade you see on the bottle, such as 0W-20 or 5W-30. It describes how the oil flows at different temperatures. Using the correct viscosity does not automatically mean you have the correct oil, and choosing a dexos-approved oil does not mean you can substitute one viscosity for another. The oil needs to meet the requirements GM specifies for your particular engine. That is why there is not a reliable one-size-fits-all answer based simply on whether your Chevy has a four-cylinder, V6, V8, turbocharged, or naturally aspirated engine. Check the requirement for the engine that is actually in your vehicle rather than relying on a general rule for the model name. For qualifying vehicles covered by Jupiter Chevrolet's Lifetime Powertrain Warranty, using the correct fluids is only part of it. Required maintenance must be completed within 5,000-mile intervals, and it must be performed at Jupiter Chevrolet for coverage to stay active. Full details are in the Jupiter Advantage program terms. What Happens If You Use the Wrong Oil Using the wrong oil does not necessarily mean your engine will fail immediately. The bigger concern is that an oil with the wrong viscosity or one that does not meet the required GM specification may not provide the protection the engine was designed around. That can matter under conditions where the oil is being asked to do more than simply lubricate moving parts. Modern engine oils also help control deposits, protect against wear and oxidation, and meet performance requirements specific to newer engine designs. Turbocharged engines are one example. Low-speed pre-ignition, or LSPI, is an abnormal combustion event that can occur in some turbocharged, direct-injected gasoline engines under certain operating conditions. Modern oil specifications include testing and performance requirements intended to reduce that risk. In severe cases, repeated LSPI events can damage engine components. Viscosity matters too. Oil that is too thick or too thin for the application may not flow and perform the way GM intended across the engine's operating conditions, particularly during startup and as engine temperatures change. That is why the safest approach is simple: use the viscosity and oil specification listed for your exact Chevrolet engine rather than substituting an oil because it seems close enough. Why the Oil Filter Matters Too The oil itself is only part of an oil change. The filter matters too. As engine oil circulates, the oil filter helps capture contaminants before the oil continues moving through the engine. Like the oil itself, the filter needs to be the correct application for the specific engine rather than simply a filter that physically fits. That is especially important on modern engines where oil is doing several jobs at once, including lubricating internal components, helping control heat, and supplying oil to components that depend on consistent lubrication. At Jupiter Chevrolet, the oil and filter are matched to the specific engine being serviced rather than defaulting to one oil across every Chevrolet that comes through the door. The takeaway is simple: using the correct oil matters, but so does pairing it with the correct filter for the engine. Both are part of servicing the vehicle according to its requirements. How to Check Exactly What Oil Your Chevy Requires The best place to confirm the oil your Chevrolet requires is the owner's manual for your specific model year and engine. Look for both the required oil specification and the correct SAE viscosity grade, such as 0W-20 or 5W-30. The oil fill cap under the hood may also give you a quick reference for the recommended viscosity, but the owner's manual provides the more complete requirements for your particular vehicle. If you do not know which engine your Chevy has, the VIN can be used to identify the exact vehicle configuration. That matters because two Chevrolets with the same model name can have different engines with different oil requirements. A Silverado is a good example. Asking “What oil does a Silverado take?” may not have one answer across every engine and model year. Asking “What oil does my Silverado take?” is the better question. If you are having the oil changed somewhere other than a Chevrolet dealership, ask what oil will be used before the service begins. Confirm the viscosity and whether the oil meets the GM specification listed in your owner's manual rather than assuming that any oil with the right viscosity is interchangeable. And if your vehicle is covered by the Lifetime Powertrain Warranty, see the note above about where that maintenance has to be performed. At Jupiter Chevrolet in Garland, you do not have to work any of this out yourself. Our service team can use your vehicle information to identify the engine and confirm the correct oil specification, viscosity, capacity, and filter for that application before the oil change is performed. Getting Your Oil Changed at Jupiter Chevrolet in Garland An oil change at Jupiter Chevrolet starts by identifying what your specific engine actually requires, then matching the oil specification, viscosity, capacity, and filter to that vehicle. Every oil change also includes a tire rotation and our 151-point inspection, and every vehicle that comes through the service drive gets a complimentary tire tread-depth check, alignment check, and recall check regardless of what it came in for. A scheduled oil change typically takes about 45 minutes to an hour, and there is an overnight drop-off box if you cannot make it during service hours. For the full rundown of what is covered during the visit, see What Is Included in a Jupiter Chevrolet Oil Change Service. Frequently Asked Questions Where should I take my Chevy for an oil change in Garland? Jupiter Chevrolet's service department is on I-635 in Garland, Texas, and our team looks up what your specific engine requires before touching anything. Every oil change includes a tire rotation and our 151-point inspection, plus a complimentary tire tread-depth check, alignment check, and recall check. Do I really need the expensive synthetic oil, or is that just an upsell? If your engine requires full synthetic oil, using synthetic is not an optional upgrade. Many newer Chevy engines are designed to use oil that meets a specific GM specification, and choosing a cheaper oil that does not meet those requirements may mean the engine is not getting the protection it was designed for. Your owner's manual will tell you what your engine requires, or Jupiter Chevrolet can look it up from your vehicle information. What is dexos, and do I actually have to use it? It is General Motors' own standard for engine oil. An oil with dexos approval has passed GM's tests for things like wear protection and keeping the inside of the engine clean. Whether you have to use it depends on your engine. If your owner's manual calls for a dexos oil, then yes, that is what should go in it. If you are not sure, the service team at Jupiter Chevrolet can check for you. Can I go back to the cheaper oil to save money? Only if the cheaper oil actually meets what GM requires for your engine. If your manual calls for full synthetic that meets a dexos standard, conventional oil is not a substitute just because the numbers on the bottle match. The savings are not worth what an engine repair costs. How do I find out what oil my Chevy takes if I do not know what engine I have? Your VIN tells you. Two Chevys with the same name on the back can have completely different engines that take different oil, so the model name alone is not enough. Bring the vehicle to Jupiter Chevrolet in Garland and we can pull the exact engine, oil specification, viscosity, capacity, and filter from your vehicle information. Is 0W-20 the same thing as synthetic? No, and this trips up a lot of people. 0W-20 describes how thick or thin the oil is at different temperatures. It says nothing about whether the oil meets GM's standard. Two bottles can both say 0W-20 and only one of them may be right for your Chevy. You need both the right number and the right specification. The store is out of 0W-20. Can I just grab 5W-30 instead? Do not swap viscosity grades on your own. Those numbers describe how the oil flows at different temperatures, and the first one is about cold starts, so a thicker oil may not move the way your engine needs it to when you first turn the key. Some manuals do list a different viscosity for certain temperature ranges, so check yours or call Jupiter Chevrolet's service department in Garland before you put anything else in it. Does Jupiter Chevrolet change the filter too, or just the oil? The filter is part of it. And it is not just any filter that screws on. The filter has to be the correct one for your specific engine, the same way the oil does, because it is what catches the contaminants before the oil circulates back through. Is there somewhere off 635 that can do the oil, the filter, and an inspection all in one stop? Yes. Jupiter Chevrolet is on I-635 in Garland, and all of it happens in the same visit. The oil and filter are matched to your engine, tire rotation is included, and the 151-point inspection runs on the vehicle while it is there. You also get a complimentary tire tread-depth check, alignment check, and recall check on the same stop without having to ask for them. How long does an oil change take at Jupiter Chevrolet? About 45 minutes to an hour for a scheduled appointment. That includes the tire rotation and the 151-point inspection, not just the oil. Can I get a same-day oil change at Jupiter, or do I need an appointment? Scheduling ahead is the surest way to get in and out in the 45-minute to one-hour window. Call the Jupiter Chevrolet service department in Garland to check what is open today. Can I drop my car off at Jupiter after hours? Yes. Jupiter Chevrolet has an overnight drop-off box, so if you cannot get there during service hours you can leave the vehicle and we will take care of it the next business day. Contact the service department for current drop-off instructions. Do I have to get my oil changed at Jupiter to keep my lifetime warranty? For qualifying vehicles covered by Jupiter Chevrolet's Lifetime Powertrain Warranty, yes. Required maintenance has to be completed within 5,000-mile intervals and performed at Jupiter Chevrolet for the coverage to stay active. It is worth knowing this before you take the car somewhere else for a quick oil change. Check the current Jupiter Advantage terms for the full requirements. Does Jupiter Chevrolet put the same oil in every Chevy? No. The oil specification, viscosity, capacity, and filter are matched to whatever engine is actually in your vehicle. Using one default oil across every Chevrolet that comes in is exactly the thing this post is warning about. Not Sure What Oil Your Chevy Needs? You do not have to figure it out before scheduling service. Bring your Chevrolet to Jupiter Chevrolet on I-635 in Garland and our service team can identify the oil requirements for your specific vehicle before the oil change begins. A scheduled appointment typically takes about 45 minutes to an hour and includes a tire rotation and the 151-point inspection, plus a complimentary tire tread-depth check, alignment check, and recall check. What's Included in Tire Service at Jupiter Chevrolet? Rotation, Alignment, and When to Replace

TL;DR Every service visit at Jupiter Chevrolet in Garland includes a complimentary tire tread-depth check, alignment check, and recall check. Tire rotation is included with every oil change as part of Jupiter's 151-point inspection. If your tires need replacement, Jupiter Chevrolet sells and installs tires on site and offers a tire price match guarantee. Tires tend to get attention when something changes. The steering starts pulling to one side. Road noise gets louder. The low-pressure light keeps coming back. Or somebody finally points out that the tread is getting low. At Jupiter Chevrolet, you do not have to wait for one of those signs to have your tires checked. Every service visit includes a complimentary tread-depth check and alignment check, and tire rotation is included with every oil change as part of our 151-point inspection. Here is what those checks actually tell you, when a tire may need to be replaced, and what happens if you decide to buy and install your next set at Jupiter Chevrolet. What's Included in Tire Service at Jupiter Chevrolet Tire care at Jupiter Chevrolet is built into routine service visits rather than waiting until you specifically ask someone to check the tires. Because tread and alignment can change gradually, these checks give you a clearer picture of how your tires are wearing before a problem becomes obvious from the driver's seat. With every service visit, the following checks are complimentary: Tire tread-depth check. We measure the remaining tread on each tire rather than relying on a visual estimate. That helps show how much usable tread remains and whether the tires are wearing evenly. Alignment check. We check whether the wheel alignment is within specification. An alignment that is out of spec can contribute to uneven or accelerated tire wear. Recall check. We also check your Chevrolet for open recalls while the vehicle is here, so you know whether there is a manufacturer recall that needs to be addressed. Tire rotation is included with every oil change as part of Jupiter Chevrolet's 151-point inspection. Our 151-point inspection was developed from GM's 172-point inspection checklist. We reviewed that checklist, removed items that were outdated or no longer useful for the vehicles coming through our service drive, and built the 151-point process we use today. So if you are already bringing your Chevrolet to Jupiter for an oil change, tire rotation and the checks that help us evaluate tread wear and alignment are already part of the visit. You do not need to schedule a separate appointment just to have someone take a first look at how your tires are wearing. How to Tell If You Need New Tires There are three things worth paying attention to when deciding whether your Chevy may need new tires: tread depth, tire age, and the way the tires are wearing. Tread depth is the most measurable place to start. Tire tread helps channel water out from underneath the tire and maintain traction on wet roads. As the tread wears down, the tire has less ability to move that water away. NHTSA says tires should be replaced when the tread reaches 2/32 of an inch. That does not mean you have to wait until the tires reach the minimum before paying attention to them. Measuring tread depth during routine service lets you see how much tread remains and plan for replacement before you are surprised by it. Age matters separately from tread depth. A tire can still have visible tread and show signs of aging. Heat, sunlight, storage conditions, maintenance, and how the vehicle is used can all affect how quickly tire materials age. That is especially worth paying attention to in North Texas, where vehicles can spend long stretches exposed to high temperatures and direct sun. Check your owner's manual and the tire manufacturer's guidance for recommendations that apply to your specific vehicle and tires. Uneven wear can be a sign that something else needs attention. If one edge of a tire is wearing faster than another, or one tire looks noticeably different from the others, the next question is why. Alignment, tire pressure, rotation history, suspension components, and other factors can all affect the wear pattern. That is why we look at more than whether a tire has simply reached the end of its tread. How much tread is left and how that tread is wearing can tell you different things about what the vehicle needs next. How our drive-over scanner checks your tires The guesswork comes out of tire recommendations before you have talked to anybody. As you pull into the Jupiter Chevrolet service drive, your vehicle passes over a drive-over scanner that measures tread depth on each tire and captures imagery of the vehicle as you enter. So instead of a service advisor telling you your tires look worn, you get a number for each tire. That matters because four tires on the same vehicle do not always wear at the same rate, and a difference from one tire to the next is often the first sign that something other than the tire needs attention. We pair those measurements with the complimentary alignment check to determine whether the alignment is within specification, and the same service-lane process flags any open Chevrolet recall while the vehicle is here. By the time we are talking with you about your tires, we have measurements to point to rather than an opinion. Tire Rotation: What It Does and Why It Comes With Every Oil Change Tires do not always wear at the same rate. Where a tire is positioned on the vehicle, whether the vehicle is front-, rear-, or all-wheel drive, alignment, inflation, driving habits, and other factors can all affect how quickly and where a tire wears. Rotation changes the position of the tires on the vehicle to help distribute that wear more evenly over time. More even wear can help you get more usable life from the set and maintain more consistent handling and traction as the tires age. Chevrolet recommends regular tire rotation, with the exact schedule depending on your vehicle and maintenance guidance. Rather than making tire rotation another service you have to remember separately, Jupiter Chevrolet includes it with every oil change. That means when your Chevy is already in the shop for routine oil service, we can rotate the tires and look at how all four are wearing during the same visit. Your owner's manual and Chevrolet maintenance schedule should still be the guide for your specific model and model year. But if you are keeping up with routine oil changes at Jupiter, tire rotation is already built into the service instead of becoming another appointment you have to schedule. If you need a rotation on its own, without an oil change, that is a separate paid service. Current pricing is listed on the Jupiter Chevrolet tire page. Alignment: The Free Check, and When It Becomes a Repair There is an important difference between checking your alignment and correcting your alignment. At Jupiter Chevrolet, the alignment check is complimentary with every service visit. If the vehicle needs an alignment adjustment, that is a separate repair. The check tells us whether the vehicle's wheel-alignment measurements are within specification. If everything measures where it should, there is nothing to correct. If the measurements show the alignment is out of specification, we will show you what we found and explain what it would cost to correct it before any additional work is performed. Alignment can change for a number of reasons. Hitting potholes or curbs can affect it, and worn or damaged steering or suspension components can also contribute. Sometimes the first clue is not that the vehicle suddenly feels different. It is a tire that has started wearing unevenly. That is one reason the complimentary alignment check works well alongside the tread-depth measurement. Tread depth tells us how the tires are wearing. The alignment check helps determine whether the vehicle's alignment may be contributing to that wear. If an alignment is out of specification, correcting it can help prevent continued uneven tire wear and help the vehicle track as intended. And if you are already replacing worn tires, checking the alignment before sending you back onto the road helps avoid putting a new set on without first identifying whether an alignment issue contributed to the wear. When the Problem Is the Wheel, Not the Tire A tire, an alignment, and a wheel are three different things, and each one affects the other two. When we find a tire wearing unevenly, the alignment measurement is the first place we look. The wheel itself is the second. A wheel that has been bent by a pothole or scraped hard against a curb can still hold air and look fine at a glance while throwing the alignment off and wearing the tire unevenly. That is the case where replacing the tire on its own does not fix anything. The new set wears the same way the old one did, because whatever caused the wear is still on the vehicle. So when a worn tire turns up during a service visit, we look at the wheel along with the specs. If there is damage that could be affecting alignment or tire wear, you find out before you buy a new set rather than a few thousand miles after. What wheel repair covers Jupiter Collision Center is on site, so wheel work does not have to go out to a third party. On the repair side that covers curb rash, scratches and scuffs, gouges, bent rims, minor cracks where they can be safely repaired, and corrosion. All makes and models are welcome, not just Chevrolets. Note the qualifier on cracks. Some are repairable and some are not. The wheel gets inspected first to determine whether it can be safely repaired, and where replacement is the safer answer, that is what we will tell you. Refinishing and appearance restoration Refinishing solves a different problem than a bend does. A wheel can be structurally fine and still look rough: clear coat peeling, the finish gone dull, curb rash down one edge. None of that changes how the vehicle drives. It changes how it looks, and it tends to get noticed when the vehicle is appraised. Cosmetic wheel repair, complete refinishing, factory-style finishes, and custom colors are all available. Most work is done in 24 to 48 hours. What it costs depends on the finish you want and the condition the wheel is in, so the collision center will quote your specific set rather than guess at it here. There is a line where fixing damage turns into changing the look, and that is where the collision center and Jupiter Custom Shop overlap. Both are in the same building. Refinishing an existing wheel in a blackout or custom finish sits on one side of that line, and a different set of wheels entirely sits on the other, along with the suspension and appearance work that tends to go with it. If you are already looking at your wheels, it is worth knowing both options are handled in house rather than farmed out. Because most work runs 24 to 48 hours, the vehicle may stay overnight depending on what it needs. Complimentary loaners are available for qualifying service and body shop visits. If your vehicle is covered by the Jupiter Advantage, the program also includes wheel protection for damage like curb strikes and pothole impacts on qualifying vehicles. One detail worth knowing up front: that benefit covers wheel repair, not wheel replacement. One more place this can lead. If an alignment keeps drifting back out of spec after it has been corrected, or the wear pattern on a tire does not match what the alignment reading says, the next thing to look at is the steering and suspension. That is an inspection rather than a guess, and it is worth doing before you buy another set of tires that wears out the same way. What Texas Heat and DFW Roads Can Do to Your Tires North Texas gives tires plenty to deal with, from long stretches of summer heat to potholes, curbs, and everyday road impacts. Temperature affects tire pressure. Pressure generally decreases as temperatures fall and increases as temperatures rise. That is one reason a tire-pressure warning may appear during a sudden North Texas cold snap even when you did not notice a problem the day before. If the TPMS light comes on, do not rely on the temperature changing to make it disappear. Check the tires when they are cold and use the recommended pressure listed on the placard inside the driver's door jamb for your vehicle. Heat also matters over the life of a tire. NHTSA notes that environmental conditions affect tire aging and that sunlight and warmer climates may accelerate the process. That makes tire age worth considering alongside tread depth for vehicles that spend years driving and parking outside in North Texas. Then there are the roads themselves. Potholes, curb impacts, and other hard hits can affect tires, wheels, and alignment. Sometimes you feel the change immediately through a new vibration or a vehicle that starts pulling. Other times, uneven tire wear is one of the first clues that something needs to be checked. That is another reason we measure tread depth and check alignment during routine service visits. North Texas driving can be hard on tires, but you do not have to wait until the steering feels different or the tread looks worn to find out how they are doing. Buying and Installing Tires at Jupiter Chevrolet in Garland If your tread measurements and tire condition show that it is time for replacement, you can buy and have your new tires installed at Jupiter Chevrolet. You do not have to take the measurements from your service visit somewhere else to complete the work. One advantage of handling the tire replacement during the same visit is that we already have information about how the old tires were wearing and whether the vehicle's alignment is within specification. If the alignment check identifies an issue that could contribute to uneven wear, we can show you what we found and discuss correcting it before you put miles on the new set. Brands, sizes, and the Tire Finder Jupiter Chevrolet carries BFGoodrich, Bridgestone, Continental, Cooper, Firestone, General, Goodyear, Hankook, Kelly, Michelin, Pirelli, and Uniroyal. That covers what most Chevrolets leave the factory on, plus the touring and all-terrain options people tend to move to. If you would rather see what fits your vehicle before you come in, the Jupiter Chevrolet tire page has a Tire Finder that looks up options by year, make, model, and tire size, along with current tire pricing and service specials. Our service team can also size it for you rather than asking you to sort through tire specifications on your own. The 30-day tire price match guarantee If you find a better price on the same tires somewhere else, Jupiter Chevrolet will match it. There are two ways that works. Before you buy. Bring us a better eligible price at the time of purchase and we will match it. Up to 30 days after you buy. If you find a better price within 30 days of the purchase, we will refund the difference. What counts as proof is an ad, a written estimate, or an internet quote for the identical tire from a competing tire retailer or installer located within 100 miles of the dealership, provided during the guarantee period. The match price is determined before any tire manufacturer rebate is applied. The practical version: if you are shopping around anyway, keep the quote. You do not have to decide between the better price and having the work done here. How to Make a Set of Tires Last Longer in North Texas There is no way to make a tire last forever, but a few basic maintenance habits can help you get as much usable life as possible from the set. Check tire pressure regularly. Check the tires when they are cold and inflate them to the pressure listed on the placard inside the driver's door jamb, not the maximum pressure printed on the tire sidewall. NHTSA recommends checking tire pressure at least once a month and before long road trips. If the low-pressure warning keeps returning or a tire repeatedly needs air, have it checked rather than continuing to top it off without finding out why. Keep up with tire rotations. Regular rotation helps distribute wear across the set. Follow the rotation guidance for your specific Chevrolet and model year. At Jupiter Chevrolet, tire rotation is included with every oil change, making it easier to take care of both during the same service visit. Pay attention to uneven wear. If one tire or one part of a tire is wearing noticeably faster than the others, do not assume replacing the tire alone solves the problem. Tire pressure, alignment, rotation history, suspension components, and other factors can all affect the way a tire wears. Do not judge tires by tread depth alone. Tire age and condition matter too. NHTSA notes that factors including heat and sun exposure can affect tire aging, which is particularly relevant for vehicles that spend years driving and parking outside in North Texas. Mention changes in the way the vehicle drives. Pulling, vibration, changes in steering feel, or new road noise are worth bringing up when you come in for service. They do not automatically mean you need new tires or an alignment, but they give the technician more information about what to inspect. The goal is not to replace tires sooner than necessary. It is to keep an eye on pressure, tread, wear patterns, and overall condition so you can address problems that may shorten tire life before they become more expensive ones. Frequently Asked Questions Does Jupiter Chevrolet check tire tread for free? Yes. Jupiter Chevrolet includes a complimentary tire tread-depth check with every service visit. We measure the remaining tread so you can see how much is left and whether the tires are wearing evenly. Is tire rotation included with an oil change at Jupiter Chevrolet? Yes. Tire rotation is included with every oil change at Jupiter Chevrolet as part of our routine tire and vehicle maintenance process. Regular rotation helps distribute tire wear more evenly across the set. How do I know when my tires need to be replaced? Start with tread depth, tire condition, age, and wear pattern. NHTSA says tires should be replaced when tread reaches 2/32 of an inch, but a tire may need attention sooner because of damage, aging, or other condition concerns. Does uneven tire wear mean I need an alignment? Not necessarily. Uneven tire wear can be associated with alignment, but tire pressure, rotation history, suspension or steering components, and other factors can also affect how a tire wears. Jupiter Chevrolet includes a complimentary alignment check with every service visit so we can determine whether the alignment is actually within specification. Can a bent wheel make my tires wear out faster? Yes. A wheel that got bent in a pothole or took a hard hit against a curb can throw the alignment off and wear the tire unevenly, even while it still holds air and looks fine. That is why we check the wheel and not just the tire when we find uneven wear. Putting a new tire on without fixing what caused the wear just starts the same problem over. Can Jupiter fix a curbed or scuffed wheel, or do I have to buy a new one? Often it can be repaired or refinished instead of replaced. Jupiter Chevrolet has a collision center on site that handles wheel repair and refinishing. Whether a particular wheel can be safely repaired depends on the type and extent of the damage, so it gets inspected first. If replacement is the safer answer, we will tell you that. Do I have to own a Chevy to get my wheels repaired at Jupiter? No. Jupiter Collision Center welcomes all makes and models for wheel repair and refinishing. You do not have to have bought the vehicle from Jupiter Chevrolet, and it does not have to be a Chevrolet. My wheels are scratched up but the car drives fine. Is it worth fixing? That one is about how you use the vehicle rather than whether anything is wrong with it. Curb rash and a peeling finish do not affect how a Chevy drives. They do affect how it looks, and wheel condition is the kind of thing that gets noticed when a vehicle is appraised. If you plan to keep the vehicle a while, it is a cosmetic call. If you are thinking about trading in the next year or two, it is worth asking what refinishing would cost before you decide. How long does wheel repair or refinishing take? Most wheel repair and refinishing work at Jupiter Collision Center takes 24 to 48 hours. Depending on what the wheel needs, the vehicle may stay overnight, so complimentary loaners are available for qualifying service and body shop visits. Can you powder coat or change the color of my wheels? Yes. Along with factory-style refinishing, Jupiter Collision Center does complete refinishing and custom colors. Pricing depends on the finish you want and the condition of the wheels, so ask for a current quote on your specific set. All makes and models are welcome. Does Jupiter Chevrolet offer a free alignment? Jupiter Chevrolet offers a complimentary alignment check with every service visit. If the check shows that your vehicle is out of specification and needs an alignment adjustment, the adjustment is a separate paid service that will be discussed with you before the work is performed. How does Jupiter Chevrolet check tire tread? Vehicles entering the Jupiter Chevrolet service drive pass over a drive-over scanner that measures tire tread depth. The measurements give our service team objective information about how much tread remains rather than relying only on a visual estimate. How often should I rotate the tires on my Chevrolet? Follow the tire-rotation schedule in the owner's manual or maintenance guidance for your specific Chevrolet and model year. Jupiter Chevrolet includes tire rotation with every oil change, making it easy to take care of both during the same visit. How old is too old for a tire? There is not one replacement age that applies to every tire. Tire construction, maintenance, storage, use, heat, sunlight, and other conditions can affect aging. Check your Chevrolet owner's manual and the tire manufacturer's recommendations, and have older tires inspected even if they still have visible tread. Does Jupiter Chevrolet sell and install tires? Yes. Jupiter Chevrolet sells and installs replacement tires at our Garland service department. Our service team can help identify the correct tire size and replacement options for your specific Chevrolet. Where can I get new tires installed near Garland, TX? Jupiter Chevrolet sells and installs replacement tires on site in Garland, Texas. Because tread depth and alignment are already measured during your service visit, any alignment issue that may have contributed to the old tires wearing out can be identified and discussed before the new set goes on the vehicle. Will Jupiter match a cheaper tire price I found somewhere else? Yes, within some limits worth knowing about. Bring us an ad, written estimate, or internet quote for the identical tire from a competing tire retailer or installer within 100 miles of the dealership, and we will match it at the time of purchase. If you find a better price within 30 days after you buy, we will refund the difference. The comparison is made on the price before any tire manufacturer rebate is applied. What tire brands does Jupiter Chevrolet sell? Eligible brands are BFGoodrich, Bridgestone, Continental, Cooper, Firestone, General, Goodyear, Hankook, Kelly, Michelin, Pirelli, and Uniroyal. If you are not sure which one fits how you actually drive, our service team in Garland can walk through the options for your specific Chevrolet. Should I replace all four tires at the same time? Not always. Whether you should replace one, two, or all four tires depends on factors including the condition and tread depth of the remaining tires, the vehicle's drivetrain, and the replacement requirements for your specific vehicle. Our service team can measure all four tires and explain the appropriate options based on what we find. Are tires covered under the Lifetime Powertrain Warranty? No. The Jupiter Chevrolet Lifetime Powertrain Warranty covers major powertrain components such as the engine, transmission, transfer case when equipped, and drive axles. Wear items including tires, brakes, and batteries are not covered. Keeping up with required maintenance remains part of what keeps powertrain coverage valid. Can Texas heat make tires wear out faster? Heat and sun exposure can contribute to tire aging over time. NHTSA notes that warmer climates and exposure to sunlight may accelerate tire aging, which makes tire age and overall condition worth considering alongside tread depth for vehicles driven in North Texas. Due for Tires? Start With a Check If you are not sure how much life your tires have left, you do not have to guess. Bring your Chevrolet to Jupiter Chevrolet in Garland for service and we will check the tread depth and alignment at no additional charge. If the tires are still in good shape, you will know where they stand. If they are getting close to replacement or wearing unevenly, we can show you what we found and talk through the next step. And if it is time for new tires, our service department can size them, install them on site, and walk you through the price match. You can also browse what fits your vehicle first on the Jupiter Chevrolet tire page. Service hours are 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM Monday through Friday and 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM Saturday. Dent Repair Service

Is Paintless Dent Repair the Right Fix for Hail Damage on Your Chevy?

If a North Texas hailstorm left your Chevrolet covered in dings and dents, you may be wondering what your repair options look like. Paintless dent repair for hail damage is one of the most common solutions recommended after a storm for Garland, Texas drivers—but it’s not always the right fit for every situation. Here’s what you need to know before you decide. What Is Paintless Dent Repair? Paintless dent repair—often called PDR—is a technique that removes dents from a vehicle's body panels without sanding, filling, or repainting the surface. Trained technicians use specialized tools to gently massage the metal back to its original shape from behind the panel. Because no paint is disturbed during the process, paintless dent repair for hail damage can preserve your vehicle's factory finish. This is a significant advantage when it comes to maintaining your Chevy's appearance and resale value. It’s also typically faster and more cost-effective than traditional body repair methods. When Is Paintless Dent Repair a Good Option After a Hailstorm? PDR works best when the damage meets a few key conditions. The dents should be relatively shallow, meaning the metal has flexed but not stretched or creased. The paint surface must be intact with no chipping, cracking, or peeling. After a typical North Texas hailstorm, many vehicles end up with dozens of small to medium-sized dents scattered across the hood, roof, and trunk. If your Chevy falls into this category and the paint is undamaged, paintless dent repair is a smart choice to handle the hail damage. When PDR May Not Be Enough Not every hail-related dent can be repaired with the paintless method. If the hailstones were large enough to stretch or crack the metal, or if the paint has already been compromised, traditional Chevy collision repair may be the better path forward. Dents located near panel edges, body lines, or structural components can also be difficult or impossible to access with PDR tools. In those cases, conventional repair techniques, including filling and repainting, may be necessary to restore your vehicle properly. A thorough inspection by a qualified technician is the best way to determine which approach fits your specific damage. Trying to push PDR on damage that requires traditional bodywork can lead to incomplete repairs or additional problems down the road. What to Expect During the Repair Process If your Chevy is a good candidate for paintless dent repair for hail damage, the process is generally straightforward. A technician will inspect the vehicle under specialized lighting to map every dent. Then, using a combination of metal rods and body picks, they carefully work each dent out from behind the panel. Depending on the extent of the damage, the repair can often be completed in 1 to 3 days. There’s no drying time for paint or filler, so you get your vehicle back sooner. Chevy collision repair, when handled by trained professionals in Garland, Texas, can restore your vehicle's look without sacrificing the original factory finish. Visit Jupiter Chevrolet After a Hailstorm If your Chevy took a hit during a recent storm, don’t wait to have it looked at. The team at Jupiter Chevrolet is ready to help drivers throughout Garland, TX, assess hail damage and determine whether paintless dent repair for hail damage is the right solution. How Jupiter Chevrolet Supports Garland: Local Schools, Charities, and Community Partnerships

TL;DR Jupiter Chevrolet supports Garland and the surrounding North Texas community through school partnerships (Garland ISD, Rockwall ISD, Dallas Christian School, Rockwall-Heath High School, Rockwall High School, Lakeview Centennial High School), charitable organizations (NAACP, Inspired by Giving Charity, Joni and Friends, the Robinson Chirinos Foundation, Toys for Tots, Team Hilliard Foundation), first responders (Dallas Fire Department, Garland Crime Stoppers), local chambers of commerce, and regional events like the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo. These partnerships reflect the dealership's ongoing commitment to the people and organizations that make Garland home, not just the customers who buy cars. A dealership's job doesn't stop at selling and servicing cars. Jupiter Chevrolet has been part of Garland since 1925, and staying involved in the community has become part of how the dealership operates. Over the years, that has meant supporting local schools, first responders, charities, youth programs, and community events across Garland, Rockwall, and the surrounding North Texas area. Here's a closer look at some of the schools, causes, organizations, and events Jupiter Chevrolet has supported and the relationships that continue to connect the dealership to the communities it serves. Supporting Schools and Education in Garland and Rockwall Jupiter Chevrolet has supported schools and educational programs across the area, including Garland ISD, Rockwall ISD, Dallas Christian School, Rockwall-Heath High School, Rockwall High School, and Lakeview Centennial High School. That support has taken different forms, from recognizing Garland ISD's Teacher of the Month to backing the East Trinity Masonic Lodge Scholarship, which helps send local students to college. The dealership has also supported the North Texas Auto Tech Competition, which gives high school students hands-on exposure to automotive careers. For a business that depends on skilled technicians and service advisors, investing in the pipeline of future automotive talent isn't just goodwill, it's practical. Supporting Local Charities and Community Organizations Jupiter Chevrolet has supported a range of charitable organizations working in and around Garland, including the NAACP, Inspired by Giving Charity, Joni and Friends, the Robinson Chirinos Foundation, Toys for Tots, and the Team Hilliard Foundation, an annual partnership the dealership continues to support each year. Joni and Friends serves families across the Dallas-Fort Worth area affected by disability through retreats and support programs. The dealership has also taken part in local charity drives and community fundraising events throughout the year. These partnerships tend to run quieter than a sponsored car show or a booth at a chamber event, but they're often where community support makes the most direct difference, funding scholarships, supporting families, and backing causes that matter to the people who live and work in Garland. Supporting Local First Responders and Public Safety Jupiter Chevrolet has also supported the people who keep Garland and Dallas safe. The dealership has been involved with Eagles and Axes, an event benefiting the Dallas Fire Department, and the Garland Crime Stoppers Car Show, which supports local crime prevention efforts while giving the community a chance to see classic and custom vehicles up close. “We sell cars, but that's not the only reason we're here. Garland has supported this dealership for generations, and the least we can do is show up for the schools, first responders, and organizations that make this a good place to live and do business.” Eric Fussell, General Manager, Jupiter Chevrolet Community Involvement Beyond Garland Jupiter Chevrolet is a Garland dealership, but several of these partnerships extend into the surrounding cities the dealership actually serves. Rockwall ISD, Rockwall-Heath High School, and Rockwall High School reach into Rockwall specifically, while the Rockwall Area Chamber of Commerce membership connects the dealership to that business community directly rather than treating it as an afterthought to Garland. Dallas Christian School, located in Mesquite, extends that reach further east, and it's a member of the same Rockwall Area Chamber of Commerce that Jupiter belongs to, which is part of how that particular partnership came together in the first place. That spread isn't incidental. Jupiter Chevrolet's customer base runs well beyond Garland's city limits into Dallas, Rockwall, Plano, Richardson, Frisco, Mesquite, Forney, McKinney, and Grapevine, and the community partnerships roughly track that same footprint rather than staying confined to a single zip code. It's also why this list keeps growing rather than staying fixed to whatever it looked like a few years ago. As the dealership's customer base has spread across North Texas, so have the schools, chambers, and organizations it chooses to support, which is a more accurate reflection of who's actually driving a Jupiter Chevrolet vehicle than a list frozen at any single point in the past. Supporting the Local Business Community Jupiter Chevrolet is an active member of both the Garland Chamber of Commerce and the Rockwall Area Chamber of Commerce. Chamber membership connects the dealership with other local business owners and keeps Jupiter Chevrolet plugged into what's happening across the business community it serves, not just the automotive side of it. Supporting Sports, Car Shows, and Regional Events Beyond schools and charities, Jupiter Chevrolet has shown up at events that bring the community together for fun, not just fundraising. That includes local car shows and youth sports leagues, membership with the Dallas Athletic Club, and a presence at the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo, one of the largest annual events in North Texas. Building Community Relationships Over Time A lot of corporate sponsorships work the same way: a company writes a check once, gets a logo on a banner, and moves on to the next thing. That's not how most of these partnerships work at Jupiter Chevrolet. The Team Hilliard Foundation partnership, for example, is an annual commitment the dealership renews every year, not a single donation tied to one event. The same is true for several of the other organizations on this list, support that continues year over year rather than resetting each January. That distinction matters more than it might seem. A one-time sponsorship photo op is easy. Showing up for the same scholarship fund, the same car show, or the same charity drive every single year for a decade is a different kind of commitment, and it's the kind that's harder to fake. It's also part of why some of these partnerships don't come with a big announcement each year. When something becomes a standing commitment instead of a one-off event, it stops needing a press release to be real. For organizations considering a partnership with a local business, that ongoing structure is worth asking about directly. A sponsor who's still showing up in year six or year ten says something different than one who shows up once and disappears, and it's a fair question to ask any business before assuming a single logo placement means an active relationship. Why Community Involvement Matters at Jupiter Chevrolet Sponsorships and community partnerships don't show up on a window sticker, but they're part of what separates a dealership that's simply located in Garland from one that's actually part of Garland. For Jupiter Chevrolet, that shows up in a classroom scholarship, a car show that benefits crime prevention, a chamber meeting, or a rodeo in Fort Worth. None of it happens because it's required. It happens because the dealership has been part of this community for a long time and plans to stay that way. Lifted white Chevrolet Silverado High Country dually custom build on aftermarket wheels at Jupiter Chevrolet in Garland, TX

Custom Chevys in Garland, Texas: Inside a Jupiter Custom Shop Build

TL;DR Jupiter Custom Shop handles lift kits, suspension upgrades, wheels, tint, paint protection, spray-in bed liners, tonneau covers, running boards, exhaust systems, and other upgrades in-house using established aftermarket brands including BDS, FOX, ReadyLIFT, Vossen, KMC, XPEL, Rhino Linings, and more. Some vehicles are custom-built before they're listed for sale, while other upgrades can be added at the point of purchase. Qualifying vehicles may also receive Jupiter Chevrolet ownership benefits such as the Lifetime Powertrain Warranty and collision deductible reimbursement, subject to the same eligibility terms as other qualifying vehicles. Walk the lot at Jupiter Chevrolet and you'll notice some trucks sit a little taller, roll on wheels that didn't come from the factory, and carry upgrades like spray-in bed liners and window tint. Those are Jupiter Custom Shop builds, with the upgrades installed in-house by the same team behind the customization. Here's what goes into a custom Chevy for sale in Garland, Texas, and why buying one already built by the dealership can be different from buying a stock truck and upgrading it yourself later. What Is Jupiter Custom Shop? Jupiter Custom Shop is Jupiter Chevrolet's in-house team for vehicle customization, handling suspension and lift systems, wheels, protective coatings, bedliners, truck accessories, performance upgrades, and other vehicle enhancements. Some Chevys are custom-built before they're listed for sale, while other upgrades can be added at the point of purchase based on what the customer wants. The installation work is performed in-house by Jupiter's Custom Shop team, with brand partners spanning suspension, wheels, protective finishes, truck accessories, and performance. That gives customers one place to choose the vehicle, decide how they want it equipped, and have the upgrades installed before taking it home. What Goes Into a Jupiter Custom Shop Build? A Jupiter Custom Shop build can include suspension and lift upgrades, wheels, protective finishes, and truck accessories depending on the vehicle and how the customer plans to use it. For suspension and lift systems, the shop works with BDS Suspension, Cognito Motorsports, Bilstein, FOX, ReadyLIFT Suspension, and Zone Offroad, with options across high-end, mid-range, and economy tiers to fit different vehicles, use cases, and budgets. Wheel options follow a similar approach, with choices from JTX Forged, Vossen Wheels, KMC Wheels, Fuel Off-Road, and XD Wheels. The Custom Shop team can help match the wheel and suspension setup to the vehicle and the overall direction of the build. Protective finishes and truck accessories can be part of the build too. Jupiter Custom Shop uses Rhino Linings for spray-on bedliner protection and XPEL for window tint and paint protection film. The shop also offers Peel Clear, a waterborne sprayable paint protection film option for customers looking for an alternative to traditional film-based PPF. For truck utility upgrades, Jupiter works with BAKFlip and Roll-N-Lock for folding and retractable tonneau covers and AMP Research for powered running boards. BORLA Exhaust is also available for customers looking to add a performance exhaust system. Not every Custom Shop project starts the same way. Some vehicles are built in advance and offered as finished custom inventory, while other upgrades are chosen at the point of purchase. A customer buying a Silverado, for example, might decide to add a tonneau cover, running boards, tint, or other accessories before taking the truck home. “There isn't one package that makes sense for every truck. We look at how the customer plans to use it, the look they're after, and their budget, then we build around that.” Eric Fussell, General Manager, Jupiter Chevrolet Why Buy a Chevy That's Already Been Customized? Buying a completed Jupiter Custom Shop build means the vehicle and its upgrades can be handled in one place. Instead of purchasing a stock truck and then coordinating suspension, wheels, tint, bed protection, and accessories through separate installers, customers can choose a vehicle that has already been equipped by Jupiter's in-house Custom Shop team. There's also a clearer path for understanding what was installed and who stands behind it. Jupiter Custom Shop works with established brand partners, and parts and products used in Custom Shop installations are warrantied directly by their respective manufacturers, with coverage terms varying by brand. The vehicle itself may also qualify for Jupiter Chevrolet ownership benefits. Qualifying vehicles may receive the Lifetime Powertrain Warranty and Collision Guard deductible reimbursement under the applicable Jupiter Advantage terms. Those vehicle benefits are separate from the manufacturer warranties that apply to individual Custom Shop products. Custom Shop upgrades may also be eligible for financing through the GM Rewards Mastercard, subject to current promotional terms and eligibility. For customers adding upgrades at the point of purchase, the Custom Shop team can explain the available options before the work is scheduled. Does a Custom Chevy Still Qualify for the Lifetime Powertrain Warranty? A Custom Shop build doesn't automatically mean giving up Jupiter Chevrolet's Lifetime Powertrain Warranty. Qualifying vehicles may still receive the Lifetime Powertrain Warranty under the same eligibility terms that apply to other qualifying vehicles sold by Jupiter Chevrolet. It's important to separate the vehicle's powertrain coverage from the warranties on the upgrades themselves. Parts and products installed by Jupiter Custom Shop are warrantied directly by their respective manufacturers, so coverage and terms vary by brand. If Lifetime Powertrain Warranty coverage is important to your purchase, ask the Jupiter Chevrolet team to confirm the eligibility of the specific vehicle and explain how the coverage applies before you buy. What Makes a Jupiter Custom Shop Build Different? Jupiter Custom Shop isn't built around one suspension brand, one wheel line, or one type of truck. The shop works with 18 brand partners across suspension, wheels, protective finishes, truck accessories, and performance, giving customers different options based on their vehicle, how they plan to use it, and what they want to spend. Suspension and wheel options are organized across different tiers rather than treating every build the same. That could mean a high-end suspension setup from BDS, Cognito, or FOX, a different option from Bilstein, ReadyLIFT, or Zone Offroad, or wheel choices ranging from JTX Forged and Vossen to KMC, Fuel Off-Road, and XD. The shop also handles the finishing details in-house. XPEL is Jupiter's preferred brand for window tint and paint protection film, with tint installed by an XPEL-certified installer. Jupiter also offers Peel Clear, a waterborne sprayable paint protection film option for customers looking for an alternative to traditional film-based PPF. The goal isn't to put the same package on every truck. It's to build around the vehicle, the customer's priorities, and how that vehicle will actually be used. Finding a Custom Chevy for Sale at Jupiter Chevrolet Jupiter Chevrolet makes its completed Custom Shop builds easier to browse separately from standard new and used inventory. Because the available builds change as vehicles are completed and sold, the selection of lift heights, wheels, trims, colors, and other upgrades can vary from one vehicle to the next. There isn't one standard Jupiter Custom Shop package. One Silverado might focus on suspension and wheels, while another may include protective finishes, bed protection, or truck accessories. Check the individual vehicle listing for available build details, or ask the Jupiter Chevrolet team what's included on a specific vehicle. When comparing a Custom Shop build with a stock Chevy, look at what's already included in the vehicle rather than comparing the advertised prices alone. A custom build may already include suspension, wheels, tint, bed protection, running boards, a tonneau cover, or other upgrades that aren't part of the stock vehicle. If anything isn't clear from the listing, ask the Jupiter Chevrolet team for the complete build details before you buy. Why Does In-House Installation Matter? Choosing the right part is only one piece of a custom build. Fit, compatibility, and installation matter too, especially when suspension, wheels, tires, steps, bed covers, and other components have to work together on the same vehicle. Jupiter Custom Shop installs its brand partner products in-house, so the team helping select the upgrades is connected to the team performing the installation. That gives customers one place to ask questions about how the parts fit the vehicle and how the finished build is intended to work together. Frequently Asked Questions What is Jupiter Custom Shop? Jupiter Custom Shop is Jupiter's in-house team for vehicle customization in Garland, TX, installing suspension and lift systems, wheels, tint, paint protection, spray-in bedliners, truck accessories, performance upgrades, and other enhancements. Depending on the vehicle and what you're looking for, those upgrades may include suspension, wheels, tint, bed protection, tonneau covers, running boards, and other accessories. What Jupiter Chevrolet Customers Are Really Saying

TL;DR Across Google, Yelp, and DealerRater, some of the strongest patterns in Jupiter Chevrolet's reviews are customers calling out individual employees by name, returning for multiple vehicle purchases or service visits, describing sales experiences as helpful and low-pressure, and recognizing service staff for communication and thoroughness. Customer experiences vary, and some critical reviews mention service wait times and questions around pricing or dealer-installed products. Jupiter considers that feedback alongside the positive reviews. We read our own reviews the same way you probably do before you buy or service a car anywhere: skeptically, looking for patterns instead of outliers. So instead of cherry-picking five-star reviews, we looked across Google, Yelp, and DealerRater to see what customers repeatedly say about buying and servicing vehicles at Jupiter Chevrolet, including the areas where their feedback tells us we still have work to do. What People Say About Buying a Car Here When customers describe buying a vehicle at Jupiter Chevrolet, some of the most useful reviews aren't simply the ones saying they had a “great experience.” They're the reviews that explain why. Across the sales reviews we reviewed, recurring themes include how clearly the purchase was explained, whether customers felt pressured during the process, and how individual members of the sales and finance teams handled their questions. “I had a fantastic experience working with Hoss! He stayed late to make sure everything was taken care of and never made me feel rushed. He worked hard to get me the best deal possible, found additional savings, and was upfront throughout the entire process.” B. M., Google Review, August 2026 Those details matter because a vehicle purchase can include several separate pieces: the vehicle price, trade-in value, financing terms, dealer-installed accessories, optional products, and ownership benefits such as the Jupiter Advantage. Understanding each of those pieces before the transaction is finalized makes it easier to know exactly what you're agreeing to. That same theme carries into financing. Recent reviewers have specifically mentioned team members taking time to explain their options, answer questions, communicate throughout the process, and make financing feel more straightforward and less stressful. “I had a great experience working with Aaron and Nathan at Jupiter Chevrolet! They were both professional, and very helpful throughout the entire process. Everything was handled quickly, efficiently, and they made what could have been a stressful experience feel easy and straightforward. I really appreciate their communication and willingness to answer all of my questions effortlessly.” Rafael G., Google Review, August 2026 Not every sales review describes that experience, and some critical reviews specifically raise concerns about pricing, dealer-installed products, trade values, or communication during the purchase process. We'll get into those further down. But across the positive sales reviews, the recurring pattern is customers describing individual team members as patient, straightforward, helpful, and willing to explain the purchase rather than pressure them through it. What People Say About Getting Their Chevy Serviced Service reviews give a different view of the customer experience because many owners return to the dealership repeatedly for maintenance and repairs. Across the reviews we reviewed, customers frequently mention the quality of the work, communication from individual service advisors, and how they're treated while their vehicle is being serviced. A standard oil change appointment at Jupiter Chevrolet is generally scheduled around a 45-minute to one-hour service window, although actual wait times can vary. Each oil change includes a complimentary tire rotation and 151-point inspection. Alignment, tire tread-depth, and immediate recall checks are also complimentary for vehicles coming through the service department. One recent Google reviewer described exactly what was completed during the visit: “The oil was changed, tires rotated, a multi point inspection done, and vehicle washed. I am pleased with the service.” Nell M., Google Review, July 2026 But some of the strongest service reviews aren't really about the checklist. They're about communication and how the customer was treated when something went wrong. One Yelp reviewer described having a new vehicle towed to Jupiter after it wouldn't start: “Nick was able to check me in quickly and get me all the infos I needed. Best communication, best service, best all around type of assistance I can ask for. Told me he was going to let me know within a couple of days of any new info which he did.” Kev K., Yelp Review, April 2024 For customers who can't wait at the dealership, Jupiter also offers an overnight drop-off box, loaner vehicles, shuttle service, and concierge pickup and delivery. Those options give customers alternatives when a vehicle needs to stay at the dealership rather than making every service visit dependent on waiting in the customer lounge. Workmanship and thoroughness are positive themes that appear in the reviews. Customers describe service team members as thorough and repairs as being completed efficiently and to their satisfaction. “Car received faster than expected from the service center. Robert Estrada was very thorough. Upper management, Eric was very accommodating and friendly during an unexpected inconvenience.” Tiffany V., Google Review, 2025 What People Say About the Team Car dealership reviews are, more than most industries, reviews of people. A customer might forget which trim level they test drove, but they remember whether the person helping them listened, answered their questions, or went out of their way to make the experience easier. One of the clearest patterns across Jupiter Chevrolet's reviews is how often customers mention individual employees by name. That happens across departments, from sales and finance to service and collision repair, and the reviews often explain specifically what that person did to earn the recognition. Jupiter also has longtime leaders across several of those departments, including General Sales Manager Hoss Headley, Used Car Director of Operations Vince Talplacido, and Body Shop Manager Zach Preddy. That continuity sits alongside a broader pattern in the reviews: customers frequently recognize the individual salespeople, service advisors, finance staff, and collision team members they worked with directly. Some of the strongest evidence comes from repeat customers. One recent reviewer, purchasing her sixth vehicle from Jupiter Chevrolet, explained why she continues coming back: “What keeps me coming back is the way they treat me. I always feel taken care of, appreciated, and like I'm part of the Jupiter family. They've consistently gone above and beyond to make every experience a great one.” Patricia M., Google Review, August 2026 That kind of loyalty appears elsewhere in the reviews too. Customers describe purchasing multiple vehicles from Jupiter, returning for service over several years, and continuing to seek out specific employees they've worked with before. For a dealership, that's a meaningful pattern: customers aren't only reviewing the vehicle they bought or the service they received. They're remembering the people who helped them. Where We're Still Improving A “what customers are really saying” post wouldn't be complete if we only looked at the five-star reviews. Customer experiences vary, and the feedback across Jupiter Chevrolet's review history includes both praise and criticism. One area that comes up in some service reviews is wait time. While many customers describe timely service, others have experienced longer waits than expected, particularly for visits they anticipated would be relatively quick. That's useful feedback for our team because convenience is part of the service experience, not just the work performed on the vehicle. We also see questions and concerns around pricing and dealer-installed products on some vehicle purchases. Those reviews reinforce the importance of clearly explaining the vehicle price, installed accessories, financing options, and other parts of the transaction before a customer makes a decision. Negative feedback is part of evaluating any dealership, including Jupiter. We pay attention to it alongside the positive reviews because it helps show where the customer experience is meeting expectations and where there's still room to make it better. What to Actually Look for in Any Dealership's Reviews Since this review analysis is coming from the dealership itself, you shouldn't have to take our word for it. There are a few things worth looking at when evaluating Jupiter Chevrolet's reviews or those of any dealership you're considering. Start with more than the star rating. Look at the total number of reviews, how recent they are, and whether the same themes appear across multiple customers. A strong overall rating can be helpful, but recent reviews can give you a better sense of what customers are experiencing today. Next, read some of the critical reviews along with the positive ones and look at how the dealership responds. Does the response address what the customer actually experienced? Does the dealership acknowledge the concern or offer a way to continue the conversation? Those details can tell you something about how customer feedback is handled when an experience doesn't go as planned. Finally, look across more than one review platform. Google, Yelp, and DealerRater each provide another source of customer feedback. When similar themes show up across different platforms and different customers, that's more useful than relying on any single review or testimonial. What This Means If You're Considering Jupiter Chevrolet If you're trying to decide what to make of a dealership's reviews, the pattern matters more than any single quote. Across the Jupiter Chevrolet reviews we reviewed, several themes appear repeatedly: customers describing straightforward, low-pressure buying experiences, positive interactions with individual team members, positive service experiences, and repeat customers choosing to come back for their next vehicle or service visit. Those patterns don't mean every customer has the same experience, and the critical reviews are part of the picture too. But looking across different customers, departments, and review platforms gives you more context than any individual five-star or one-star review can provide. If you're shopping for a Chevrolet in Garland or the greater DFW area, you can read Jupiter Chevrolet's reviews for yourself, browse our current inventory, or schedule a test drive and decide for yourself whether the experience matches what customers have described. Frequently Asked Questions What do Jupiter Chevrolet customers say about the car-buying experience? Recent sales reviews frequently mention straightforward communication, low-pressure interactions, helpful staff, and team members taking time to answer questions and explain options. Some customers also specifically mention employees helping them find additional savings or financing that fit their needs. What do Jupiter Chevrolet customers say about the service department? Customers have also specifically praised completed repairs, multi-point inspections, and individual service team members. Experiences with wait times vary. Jupiter Chevrolet offers loaner vehicles, shuttle service, concierge pickup and delivery, and an overnight drop-off box for customers who need alternatives to waiting at the dealership. Oil changes include a complimentary tire rotation and Jupiter Chevrolet's 151-point inspection. Does Jupiter Chevrolet have negative reviews? Yes. Those reviews are part of the customer feedback considered in this analysis. How can I read Jupiter Chevrolet's reviews myself? Jupiter Chevrolet has customer reviews on Google, Yelp, and DealerRater. Reading recent reviews across multiple platforms can give you a broader view of customer experiences than relying on any single review. What should I look for when reading dealership reviews? Look beyond the overall star rating. Consider how recent the reviews are, the total review volume, whether similar experiences are described by multiple customers, and how the dealership responds when customers raise concerns. Comparing reviews across more than one platform can also help you identify recurring patterns. About the Author Eric Fussell is the General Manager of Jupiter Chevrolet in Garland, TX. What Makes Jupiter Chevrolet Different From Other Chevy Dealers in DFW?

TL;DR Jupiter Chevrolet combines more than 100 years of history in Garland with ownership benefits that extend beyond the sale, including a Lifetime Powertrain Warranty on qualifying new and pre-owned vehicles, a 50-plus vehicle loaner fleet, pickup and drop-off options for service, and sales, service, parts, and collision repair connected across the same Garland campus. What makes those benefits meaningful is how they affect the ownership experience after you drive home. If you're comparing Chevrolet dealers across Dallas-Fort Worth, the vehicles themselves may look similar from one lot to another. The bigger differences often show up in what surrounds the purchase: warranty coverage, service access, trade-in and financing support, loaner availability, collision repair, and what happens when you need help months or years after the sale. Jupiter Chevrolet has served Garland since 1925 and combines new and pre-owned vehicle sales with service, parts, collision repair, and ownership programs designed to continue beyond delivery. Here's what those differences look like in practice. More Than 100 Years in Garland Jupiter Chevrolet has served Garland since 1925, giving the dealership more than 100 years of history in the community. But longevity by itself isn't what makes a dealership different. What matters is what that history looks like for customers today. Jupiter has grown beyond vehicle sales to bring sales, service, parts, collision repair, and vehicle customization together across its Garland operations. That gives customers multiple points of support throughout vehicle ownership, whether they're shopping for their next Chevrolet, returning for maintenance, or need collision repair after an accident. The dealership has also continued adding ways for customers to handle parts of the buying and ownership process online, from browsing current inventory and starting a trade-in valuation to completing a credit application before visiting the dealership. More than 100 years in Garland is part of Jupiter's story. The more important question for someone choosing a dealership today is what Jupiter has built around that history and what continues after the sale. A Lifetime Powertrain Warranty That Extends to Qualifying Used Vehicles One of the clearest differences in the Jupiter Chevrolet ownership experience is the Jupiter Advantage. Qualifying vehicle purchases include Lifetime Powertrain Warranty coverage at no additional cost, providing protection for covered powertrain components for as long as the program terms remain satisfied. As of June 2026, Jupiter Chevrolet reinstated Lifetime Powertrain Warranty coverage for qualifying pre-owned vehicles as well as qualifying new vehicles. That means shoppers comparing used vehicles should look beyond mileage, price, and equipment and also consider what protection comes with the vehicle after the purchase. The important part is understanding exactly what qualifies and what is required to maintain the coverage. Eligibility, covered components, maintenance requirements, exclusions, and claims procedures are governed by the written Jupiter Advantage terms. Buyers should review those terms for the specific vehicle they're considering and keep the required maintenance documentation after purchase. If you're comparing a vehicle at Jupiter with one elsewhere in DFW, look at the complete purchase rather than price alone: the vehicle itself, applicable pricing, included ownership benefits, and the coverage that continues after you leave the dealership. A Full-Service Team, Not Just a Sales Floor Jupiter Chevrolet's support doesn't end with the sales department. The Garland location includes sales, service, and parts, with Jupiter Collision Center located in the same parking lot for customers who need collision repair or body work. The dealership's fixed operations team includes service advisors, technicians, parts staff, warranty support, and a loaner and shuttle team. Jupiter Collision Center has its own dedicated collision repair team and estimators, giving customers access to both mechanical service and collision repair within the same Jupiter campus. That matters because vehicle ownership doesn't stay neatly within one department. A customer may purchase a Chevrolet, return for scheduled maintenance, need warranty assistance, order replacement parts, or eventually need collision repair after an accident. Having those teams located together gives customers one familiar place to return throughout different stages of ownership. For someone comparing Chevrolet dealers in DFW, it's worth looking beyond the sales floor and asking what support is available after the purchase. At Jupiter, the dealership, service department, parts department, and collision center are all part of the same Garland campus. What to Expect When You Service Your Vehicle at Jupiter Chevrolet A standard oil change at Jupiter Chevrolet typically takes about 45 minutes to an hour and includes a complimentary tire rotation and Jupiter's 151-point inspection. Complimentary alignment, tire tread-depth, and immediate recall checks are also performed on vehicles coming through the service department. Jupiter also maintains a 50-plus vehicle loaner fleet and offers pickup and delivery options for customers whose vehicles need to stay for service. An overnight drop-off box allows you to leave your vehicle after hours, while loaner vehicles and pickup and delivery options can help keep you moving when your vehicle needs to stay for service. Those options are designed to make the service visit work around the customer rather than requiring the customer to plan an entire day around the dealership. Whether you're coming in for routine maintenance or leaving the vehicle for a longer repair, the goal is to combine a thorough inspection with practical ways to reduce the disruption. How Jupiter Chevrolet Handles Dealer-Installed Accessories Some vehicles at Jupiter Chevrolet may include dealer-installed accessories or protection products, such as window tint or a spray-in bed liner. Because those items can vary from one vehicle to another, they can also affect the final price of the specific vehicle you're considering. Jupiter's approach is to explain what has been added to the vehicle, what each item costs, and how it affects the purchase before the transaction is finalized. That gives you an opportunity to understand exactly what you're paying for and ask questions about any additional equipment or protection products. If you're comparing similar vehicles at different Chevrolet dealers, look beyond the advertised vehicle price. Ask what equipment is installed on the specific vehicle, whether any dealer-installed accessories affect the price, and what is included in the final transaction. The goal at Jupiter is for you to understand the vehicle and the numbers attached to it before you sign the final paperwork. What This Means When You're Comparing DFW Chevy Dealers If you're comparing Jupiter Chevrolet with another Chevy dealer in the DFW area, don't look at vehicle price alone. Look at what comes with the purchase and what support will be available after you drive home. Ask whether any included powertrain warranty applies to both new and pre-owned vehicles and what you need to do to maintain the coverage. Ask what routine service includes beyond the basic service itself. Find out whether loaner vehicles, pickup and delivery, or after-hours drop-off are available when you need service. And before buying, ask about any dealer-installed accessories or additional products that affect the price of the specific vehicle you're considering. Those questions won't tell you which dealership has the lowest price on a particular Silverado or Equinox on a particular day. They will help you compare the complete ownership experience, including what you're getting at purchase and what support is available afterward. At Jupiter Chevrolet, that includes more than 100 years in Garland, Lifetime Powertrain Warranty coverage on qualifying new and pre-owned vehicles, a 50-plus vehicle loaner fleet, pickup and delivery options for service, and sales, service, parts, and collision repair together on the same Garland campus. Frequently Asked Questions Does Jupiter Chevrolet offer a lifetime powertrain warranty? Yes. The Jupiter Advantage includes Lifetime Powertrain Warranty coverage on qualifying vehicles. Required maintenance must be completed within 5,000-mile intervals for the coverage to remain active, subject to the program's full terms and conditions. Is the lifetime powertrain warranty available on used vehicles? Yes. Jupiter Chevrolet reinstated Lifetime Powertrain Warranty coverage for qualifying pre-owned vehicles beginning June 1, 2026, in addition to qualifying new vehicles. How long has Jupiter Chevrolet been in Garland, TX? Jupiter Chevrolet has served Garland since 1925, giving the dealership more than 100 years of history in the community. How long does an oil change take at Jupiter Chevrolet? For a scheduled appointment, a standard oil change typically takes about 45 minutes to an hour. Every oil change includes a complimentary tire rotation and Jupiter's 151-point inspection. Alignment checks, tire tread-depth checks, and immediate recall checks are also complimentary for vehicles coming through the service department. Does Jupiter Chevrolet offer loaner vehicles or pickup and delivery for service? Yes. Jupiter Chevrolet maintains a 50-plus vehicle loaner fleet and also offers concierge pickup and delivery, shuttle service, and an overnight drop-off box. Pickup and delivery is available throughout the DFW area based on service needs and availability. Does Jupiter Chevrolet charge for dealer-installed accessories like window tint or bed liners? Some Jupiter Chevrolet vehicles have dealer-installed accessories that add to the vehicle price. Common examples include XPEL window tint and Rhino Linings spray-in bed liners. These products are installed on-site, so the exact accessories on a vehicle can depend on where that vehicle is in the preparation process. Ask the dealership for the full vehicle details and pricing on the specific unit you're considering. Ready to Compare for Yourself? Jupiter Chevrolet technician inspecting the coolant reservoir on a red Chevrolet Silverado in the Garland, TX service bay

What Happens to Your Chevy's Cooling System in 100-Degree Texas Heat

TL;DR Triple-digit Texas heat makes both your Chevy's engine cooling system and air conditioning system work harder, especially in stop-and-go traffic. Watch for a temperature gauge running hotter than normal, coolant leaks or odors, reduced AC performance, or other changes from how your vehicle normally operates. Catching a cooling or AC problem early can help prevent an uncomfortable drive from becoming an overheating or breakdown issue. Dallas doesn't do mild summers. When temperatures stay in the triple digits, your Chevy's engine cooling system and air conditioning system both have to manage more heat, especially during stop-and-go traffic, long drives, and extended periods of idling. Most drivers notice an AC problem quickly. A cooling system problem can be easier to miss until the temperature gauge starts climbing or another warning sign appears. Here's what high Texas temperatures mean for both systems, the signs that something may be wrong, and when it's worth having your Chevy checked. How 100-Degree Heat Stresses Your Chevy's Cooling System Your Chevy's engine cooling system works by carrying heat away from the engine through the coolant and releasing that heat through the radiator. When the outside air is already 100 degrees or hotter, there's less temperature difference between the hot cooling system and the surrounding air, which makes shedding that heat more demanding. Stop-and-go traffic can make those conditions even tougher. At highway speeds, outside air naturally moves through the front of the vehicle. At low speeds or while idling, the cooling fans play a bigger role in moving air through the radiator and AC condenser. A low coolant level, restricted airflow, or a fan that isn't working properly may therefore become more noticeable during a long summer commute. Your AC is dealing with the same hot outside conditions from a different system. The AC condenser, typically located near the front of the vehicle ahead of the radiator, has to release heat from the refrigerant before the system can effectively cool the cabin. That's one reason AC performance problems can become especially noticeable during extreme heat or extended idling. Signs Your Chevy's Cooling or AC System Needs Attention Changes from how your Chevy normally operates are often the first clue that something needs attention. Watch for: The temperature gauge running hotter than normal, especially during traffic or extended idling. An engine temperature or overheating warning appearing on the instrument panel. A sweet or unusual odor inside or around the vehicle, which can be a sign of leaking coolant. Fluid underneath the vehicle after it's been parked, particularly if it's accompanied by a low-coolant warning or rising engine temperature. AC that isn't cooling as well as it normally does, especially if the change is sudden or continues after the vehicle has been running for several minutes. A change in AC performance doesn't automatically mean there's a problem with the engine cooling system, but either system is worth checking when its normal behavior changes. If your Chevy displays an overheating warning or the temperature gauge moves into the hot range, don't continue driving and hope it cools down. Follow the guidance in your owner's manual and have the vehicle inspected before continuing to drive. What Kind of Coolant Does Your Chevy Use Many Chevrolet vehicles use GM-approved DEX-COOL coolant, but the correct coolant and service interval depend on your specific model and model year. The safest place to check is your Chevy's owner's manual or the coolant specification listed for your vehicle. Don't rely on coolant color alone. Different coolant products can look similar, and color doesn't tell you whether a product meets the specification your Chevy requires. If the coolant level is low, avoid topping it off with whatever happens to be available unless you've confirmed it's compatible with your vehicle. In extreme Texas heat, the coolant condition matters as much as the radiator and fans around it. Low coolant, contamination, or a leak can reduce the cooling system's ability to manage engine temperature. If you're repeatedly adding coolant or notice the level dropping again after a top-off, have the system inspected rather than continuing to refill it. What's Involved in a Chevy AC and Cooling System Check Diagnosing weak AC or an engine cooling problem starts with identifying the symptoms rather than simply adding refrigerant or coolant. Depending on what your Chevy is doing, a technician may check refrigerant pressure and look for leaks, inspect AC components such as the compressor and condenser, check cabin airflow and the cabin air filter, and test related electrical components. Engine cooling concerns call for a different set of checks. That may include inspecting coolant level and condition, looking for leaks, checking the radiator and hoses, and confirming that the cooling fans and other components are operating properly. Refrigerant type also depends on the vehicle. Newer Chevrolet models may use R-1234yf, while older vehicles may use R-134a. The correct refrigerant and service procedure should always be determined by the specifications for your Chevy's model and model year. Why Cooling System Problems Matter More in Texas Heat Triple-digit temperatures don't cause every cooling system problem, but they can make an existing weakness more noticeable. Low coolant, a leak, restricted airflow, or a component that isn't working properly gives the cooling system less room to manage engine temperature when outside temperatures are already high. That's why a temperature gauge running hotter than normal or an overheating warning isn't something to put off during a Texas summer. Continuing to drive an overheating vehicle can cause serious engine damage and turn a cooling system problem into a much larger repair. That's also why Jupiter Chevrolet builds flexibility into how customers get service handled during the hottest months. Vehicles that need to stay overnight or longer can use the dealership's loaner and shuttle options, so a cooling system repair doesn't mean going without a vehicle in the middle of a Dallas summer. What to Do If Your Chevy's AC Stops Working on a 100-Degree Day Start by paying attention to what's changed. If airflow from the vents has become noticeably weaker, a dirty cabin air filter or another airflow restriction may be part of the problem. If airflow still feels strong but the air isn't getting cold, the AC system itself may need diagnosis. AC performance can change for several reasons, including refrigerant leaks, electrical problems, or issues with components such as the compressor or condenser. Rather than guessing at the cause or adding refrigerant without knowing why the system is low, have the AC system checked if the problem continues. One important distinction: warm AC isn't the same as an overheating engine. If your AC stops cooling but the engine temperature remains normal and there are no temperature warnings, that's generally an AC concern. If the temperature gauge climbs into the hot range or an overheating warning appears, follow your owner's manual guidance and stop driving when it's safe to do so. Jupiter Chevrolet also offers an overnight drop-off option for customers who need to leave a vehicle outside regular service hours. Contact the service department for current drop-off instructions and to schedule your AC or cooling-system diagnosis. How to Protect Your Chevy Before the Next Heat Wave A few simple habits can help you spot problems before the next stretch of triple-digit temperatures. Check your coolant level according to the instructions in your Chevy's owner's manual, and only check or add coolant when the vehicle is cool enough to do so safely. If the coolant level keeps dropping or you notice fluid under the vehicle, have the system inspected rather than repeatedly topping it off. Pay attention to how your Chevy normally behaves, too. A temperature gauge that begins running higher than usual, a new warning message, an unusual odor, or AC performance that suddenly changes can all be reasons to schedule a closer look. For cabin comfort, parking in a garage or shade when possible can reduce how hot the interior gets while the vehicle is sitting. If the cabin has been baking in direct sun, letting some of that trapped hot air escape before asking the AC to cool the interior can also make the first few minutes of the drive more comfortable. Preventive habits won't fix an existing mechanical problem. If your Chevy is overheating, losing coolant, or showing another persistent warning sign, have the cause diagnosed rather than trying to manage the symptoms through the rest of the summer. Frequently Asked Questions What should I do if my Chevy starts overheating? If the temperature gauge moves into the hot range or an overheating warning appears, don't ignore it or continue driving in hopes that the temperature will come back down. Follow the instructions in your Chevy's owner's manual and stop driving when it's safe to do so. Continuing to operate an overheating engine can cause serious damage. Why does my Chevy's AC blow warm air in extreme heat? Warm AC can have several causes, including low refrigerant from a leak, electrical problems, or an issue with the compressor or condenser. If the problem continues after the vehicle has been running for several minutes, the AC system may need to be diagnosed rather than simply topped off with refrigerant. Does warm AC mean my Chevy is overheating? Not necessarily. Your Chevy's air conditioning system and engine cooling system perform different jobs, so weak or warm AC by itself doesn't mean the engine is overheating. Watch the temperature gauge and instrument-panel warnings separately. If the engine temperature rises into the hot range or an overheating warning appears, treat that as an engine cooling issue and follow the guidance in your owner's manual. What refrigerant does my Chevy use? Refrigerant type depends on your Chevrolet's model and model year. Newer vehicles may use R-1234yf, while older vehicles may use R-134a. Check the specifications for your vehicle before adding or servicing refrigerant. How often should I have my Chevy's cooling system checked in Texas? Follow the maintenance schedule for your specific Chevrolet model and model year. Have the system checked sooner if you notice the engine running hotter than normal, a coolant warning, a possible leak, or another change in how the cooling system is operating. Why is the airflow from my Chevy's AC weaker than usual? A dirty cabin air filter can restrict airflow through the vents, but weak airflow can have other causes as well. If replacing or inspecting the filter doesn't resolve the problem, the HVAC system may need a closer look. Does Jupiter Chevrolet offer overnight drop-off for AC or cooling system service? Yes.
